Uruguay striker Abreu says La Coruna want him

MEXICO, April 23 (AFP)
Uruguayan striker Sebastian Abreu, who plays for Mexican club Cruz Azul, has said top Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna were interested in signing him.
Abreu, who came on as substitute in Victor Pua's side in their April 17 1-1 draw against Italy in Milan, said he hoped Cruz Azul would show him the same consideration as they had given to Mexico internationals Oscar Perez and Melvin Brown, who are preparing for the football showcase in Korea and Japan.
Abreu, who has a contract at Cruz Azul till 2003, said his parent club and Deportivo officials needed first to agree before negotiations could begin for a possible return to the Spanish club.

Looks like the mad man Abreu might be returning... But that means Tristan's departure and I DO NOT WANT THAT:mad:.

Colocolo, you know Mexican soccer, what do you think, would Loco-Abreu fit in at Depor?:)

IMO Abreu is not material for Spain...or for ANY place where there are STRICT rules..The man is really Uncontrollable and he cant operate under law and order... He does well in Mexico and has done well in Uruguay and Argentina, because in our countries players have got too much play time away from soccer and trainning..In Europe they succumb to rules.

Oh, really. I was hoping that he was a little less "mad" now but well, seems that he hasn't changed much then:). There is a buy-out clause in his loan contract, hopefully Cruz Azul use it;).
