Dear Sirs,

After the recent events following the Lisbon Derby between our esteemed team and Sporting Lisbon, I would like to offer a different perspective for next season.

It is clear that Portuguese Futebol League cannot handle a team as grandiose and as capable as ours. How else can we explain that duplicitous behavior from them? Deco vehemently physically attacks a referee and he gets a one game suspension. ZZ vehemently VERBALLY attacks a referee and he gets TWO games. You gentleman, deservedly criticize the refs and you get fined. The Boavista and Sporting presidents accuse the league of corruption and Mafia-like tactics and their teams are atop of the division with a lot of help from the referees with no fines.

Here's my plan. Because of Mr Vieira recent new ties with the New England Patriots, a very classy franchise, I suggest the shockable. Quit the Portuguese league and join the MLS. You will have a stadium, tremendous fan support, and most importantly you will be valued as an organization by the league. Oh sure there will still be referee errors in our games, but no where near the conspiracy that has taken place this past year. Additionally you will also have your derbies with the Revolution and the MetroStars and perhaps you can even poach a good player like Clint Mathis, here and there.

Furthermore, by making such a bold move, you will save millions from not finishing the new stadium. Let the politicians and other scavengers deal with the fact that the most illustrious club in Portugal's history has requested political and cultural asylum in the US. Think about the impact of such a move. Perhaps it is desperation, but it can possibly be the only way to surgically clean the decay that is destroying the Portuguese league.

Yours Truely,

RedEagle

Excellent work, Red!

There's no question that there's a double standard in our league. I don't know the source or the agenda behind it, but only understand the fact that this simply isn't acceptable. It does seem that nothing short of something drastic will bring these corrupt elements out.

As I suggested in the past, perhaps our funds would be better spent on lobbying and buying poltical help as opposed to soending them on players.

OG, it's the only way to battle the idiots running the game in Portugal.

Dias da Cunha got his threat across in the begining of the season and it paid off. Benfica and Vilarinho have to do the same. But sense they have no physical proof of corruption they must do it with veil threats of Asylum in another league.

Exactly - & notice now how no-one wants to touch on the subject. With such damaging allegations, wouldnt this guy be forced/pushed to explain himself in any other country.

Now that they got what they wanted - its all hush hush and all forgotten, no longer does da Cunha state corruption, now he thinks their all very fair - what a load of ****.

Lets remind our SCP neighbours who state that Benfiquistas are complaining too much over nothing, that they themselves with the leadership of their pres kicked up a HUGE stink over 1 game at the beginning of the season that aggrieved them. Thats when Dias de hypocrite stated he was going to reveal the corruption as he had evidence; but they expect us to say nothing over a full season of mistreatment & bodgy tactics that has a MAJOR financial bearing on our institution.

SLB took great risks this season, & to not make it into Euro we miss out on alot of much needed funds that Im sure management was counting on. So the impact of these rorts against SLB may be far more damaging than any of us may realise, for some time at least.
