The new season has already kicked off but no thread here yet.

So here are the results of matchday 1:

07.03 Kalju - Flora 0:1
07.03 Tulevik - S. Kalev 1:3
07.03 Trans - Paide LM 3:0
07.03 Levadia - Kuressaare 3:0

With Flora, Levadia, Trans, Sillamäe and Kalju all looking for gold, it promises to become an interesting season.

I think so. And Flora will be the only challenger again. Kalju with all its Brasilians and Narva may have not improved thus far yet.
I am little curious about the drop of performance between these teams and the greater rest.

Flora win in Sillamäe as fans brawl

08/02/2009 - Fans couldn't hold their fists in their pockets when a brawl burst out in the Saturday's top match in Estonian Meistriliiga between JK Sillamäe Kalev and FC Flora Tallinn.

Tension between the fans was in the air already in Tuesday when Sillamäe visited Flora in Tallinn and lost 1:4. Four days later Flora won 3:1 in a battle for second spot. Reasons why and how it was possible that the fans ended up fighting will be the subject of investigation by Estonian FA.

In other matches Trans Narva was in trouble in Tartu, where they managed to outplay the bottom team Tammeka only 1:0. “Tammeka played better than us today,” told Trans manager Sergei Ratnikov. “We just can't find a striker who can score goals.”

Leader FC Levadia Tallinn used their chance to grow their lead ahead Sillamäe when they beat JK Kalju Nõmme 3:1. Good news for Kalju was that Meistriliiga's top scorer in the last season Ingemar Teever made a come-back but from the negative side Kalju dropped to sixth spot because JK Tulevik Viljandi beat Linnameeskond Paide 4:0
