Read these facts (warning stat attack!!):

1. Only Roy Keane made more
passes than the 1,820 that McAllister did for Coventry last season and 72%
of those found their intended target. He also went in for 92 tackles
(winning 51% of them) and completed 79 clearances to help his defence out.

2. McAllister was the Premiership's top scoring midfielder last season
with 11 goals from 53 shots. That translates into a goals to shots ratio of
21% which is double the average for a midfielder.

3. Liverpool were the worst crossers in the Premiership with only two
teams putting in fewer than the 485 that the Reds did and only 23% of those
found a red shirt - the worst return in the Premiership. But McAllister
alone, put in 103 crosses last season and no central midfielder put in more
balls from wide areas than that.
(Are you listening Heskey??)

4. Of the 94 dribbles and runs McAllister embarked on, he successfully completed an excellent 88% of them. (good tank I'd say)

5. The Scot cost Liverpool nothing

McAllister is definately a class player.

Only problem. How much longer can he perform?

I still believe he is being brought in to help with the likes of Gerrard and thompson. If Liverpool qualify for the quarter finals of each of the cup competitions next season, then we will be playing 60+ games in the season. You cannot expect the players that have gone to Euro2000 to be fresh towards the end of the campaign, so McAllister will probably have a key role mid-late season, along with Camara and the others that don't make it to the Finals.
