Hapoel Tel Aviv - Maccabi Tel Aviv

Venue: Bloomfield Stadium
Kickoff: Sunday, 20:50 local time

Hapoel Tel Aviv league rank: 2nd place, 50 points

Maccabi Tel Aviv league rank: 5th place, 36 points

Ok, so this is it the last derby of the season, in previous encounters one win for each team. The teams are extremely motivated for the match and Maccabi got good news, Nimni and Rosso are fit to play, maybe not for 90 minutes, but still a good reinforcement for Maccabi. There are still slim hopes to clinch an Uefa Cup spot and a win in derby is certainly very important for this goal. Hapoel are in second place, already secured a Uefa cup ticket for next season and are thinking in the semi finals of the Cup. Last derby for Kashtan before assuming the NT.

I think it should be a good game. But im not gonna hid it from you. It would be a boring game indeed. The game would not be a very entertaining game since its hard to score on Maccabi TA and its even more hard for Maccabi TA to score alone....

but u never know :)

nice to see Kashtan's last game. Hopefuly something will happen

Hapoel Tel Aviv 2-0 Maccabi Tel Aviv

Another loss in the derby, unfortunately we couldn´t hold Kashtan´s boys and Hapoel were the better side during the majority of the match. Maccabi had a few sparkles, Rosso started after some months out and Nimni entered in the second half. Two penalties not given, one for each side, Guershon scored for Hapoel in a well taken penalty at the end of the first half and Shai Abutbul in a marvelous freekick gave final numbers for the derby.

Kashtan said after the match that this won´t be his last derby. Did he regret sigining for the NT? Or least like many thought that he would retire after the NT isn´t true.

Loni wasn´t happy of course and said that all the players are in tests and that they should give it all in the pitch, but just like Caanen he doesn´t lose hopes to reach the fourth place which could give a Uefa Cup spot or at least an Intertoto.

Maybe Hapoel was better but they didn't really impress me. 2 goals from 2 set pieces. But all in all the better side won. And the atmosphere was great, got to work as steward in gate 11 and I have to flatter both sides, the fans did everything to keep the high standards of a derby match.
