The Falkirk manager is one of the nicest guys in the SPL and has got his team playing very good football. It's a results business though. Recently the form has been going downhill.

One win in their last 10 games against SPL opposition and 3 wins overall isn't good enough. Luckily Dumbert's Livi are in the league so everyone else can relax. :)

Falkirk have not one a home game in the SPL all season- the only team not to do so. Yet strangely they have won more games away from home than Rangers. :dazed:

RANGERS

SPL Rangers 3-0 Dundee Utd

After the 3 game run of defeats, all without scoring, Rangers have started to look like a capable side again. Still far from the form that makes them the current champions but better than a few weeks back at least.

Eck has a full squad to choose from which seems to be more of a problem than a hinderence. He really doesn't know who to play and where to play them.

Eck will probably go with the same team that drew with Villarreal

Falkirk were in the First Division last season so the teams have only met in the current one. Not good news for Rangers. Not only have Rangers not beaten Falkirk yet but in two meetings they have yet to score a goal from open play against them. Must be a job for Kris Boyd. :)

I can understand (sort of) why he'd want to rest Buffel, Burke and Lovenkrands if they are starting midweek. But arguably this game, while being much less glamourous and exciting, is just as important as we can't afford to drop any more points and with no Buffel and Burke there is no creativity at all.

It's going to be a long afternoon!

Resting players could be correct but we're in no position to rest anyone.

Thats not quite so bad then, Smith has looked quite good going forward.

Although i'd still have played Murray instead of Bernard...Murray seems to being made a bit of a scapegoat for a couple of poor results.

Smith looks bloody fast whenever I've seen him. Definitely better having him in the midfield.

His namesake Gordon on the Radio just got in a nice little dig there :D

"I saw the defending there at East End Park too, Chick would have scored"

Nice

I didn't even know the team we put out before I read this. We should just be thankful we got the 3 points. I won't even try and guess his team for Tuesday.

Still Eck is doing my head in. I only listened to the game today on the radio and was watching the Celtic game. From what I could gather:

  • Young Stevie Smith moved to midfield to accomodate Olivier Bernard! Get a grip Eck. :frustrat:
  • Buffel not playing again. As far as I know it was only Burke and Murray that had the flu with Namochi injured so why leave out Buffel?
  • Novo at right midfield.
  • An ill Burke brought on at half-time 3 days before our biggest game of the season. Does Eck not remember what happened to Burke at Pittodrie?
  • Burke brought in at left midfield while Novo in right midfield. What? Ricksen and Gavin Rae on the bench.
  • On more than one occassion on the comentary Gordon Smith pointed out when Rangers should stregthen midfield to protect their lead. Eck carried on as it was.
Looks like we scraped through again. It amazes me how I am still feeling so angry after a Rangers win.

I think Buffel had picked up a knock, but I agree chivo it's quite unbelievable at times. I cannot fathom how McLeish has escaped the criticism Berti Vogts got for far less incompetence. A truly shocking state of affairs.

Okay we got the three points, but it's a classic papering over the cracks job. Thank feck this guy is leaving.
