Venue: Ha Urva, Petah Tikva
Date: March 11th, 2006
Kickoff: 17:00 local time

Hapoel Petah Tikva league rank: 10th place 25 points

Maccabi Tel Aviv league rank: 5th place 33 points

After a humilitaing defeat at the State Cup against Liga Leumit team Hapoel Acco, Maccabi Tel Aviv turns its attention to the remaining competition in the hope to end the season in a decent way. The week had a lot of speculations at Kiriat Shalom where some high officials at Maccabi were talking about replacement for Ton Caanen and also told the players that everyone are in tests and no one has a guaranteed contract for next season. Regarding the match coach Ton Caanen will have some players out. Goalkeeper Liran Strauber didn´t recover in time from injury same to defender Cristian Gonzalez and striker Roy Dayan. Also Eyal Berkovic suspended.
Maccabi faces relegation sturglers Hapoel Petah Tikva, and their coach Nir Levin promises an attacking team in order to collect vital three points.

Probable lineups;

Hapoel Petah Tikva: Cibolina, Ori Uzan, Gal Cohen, Zeev Haimovich, Dalibor Viskovic; Ravid Gazal, Omer Boksenboim ( Guy Shamir) Shimon Abuhatrza ( Elnatan Salmi) Yossi Shivhon, Manor Hassan, Toto Tamuz

Maccabi Tel Aviv: Guy Haimov; Yuval Shpungin, Avi Yehiel, Avi Strul, Salem Abu Siam; Elvin Beqiri ( Tamir Cohen) Lior Jean, Liran Cohen, Erez Mesika; Georgi Demetradze ( Ophir Haim), Jose Duarte

Petah Tikva takes the lead after 33 minutes. Yossi Shivchon breaks through with no one to stop him and Haimov could do nothing against it.

Hail Giorgi Demetradze! :pp A dramatic 91st minute equaliser by Maccabi's Georgian striker on a beautiful free kick saves Caanen's ass for one more week, Maccabi were never really in this match and Haimov saved them time and time again. But you know what matters the most and that is the sound of the ball in the net and Demetradze saves Maccabi a precious point.

The team didn´t play well even Caanen reconized this in the post match interview, but in some days from now what will be remembered is that Maccabi earned a point and not how it played so it was important for Caanen and the players to have a bit of confidence to finish the competition.
