Maccabi Tel Aviv - Nazrath Illit
Venue: Bloomfield Stadium
Date: Friday, 24.02.06

Maccabi Tel Aviv comes from a loss to Maccabi Petah Tikva which weren´t exactly in the plans of club in its clear objective in reaching an Uefa Cup spot next season. Maccabi begins now the last part of the season in which it will be very imporatnt not to lose silly points like last weeks. Nazrath Illit is slowly falling in the standings and today are in eigth place only three points above the red zone. Ivanir will certainly put a very defensive line up and a leaving Bloomfield with one point will be great for Nazrath Illit.

1:0 by Roy Dayan on 35 minutes.

Extremely boring game, Maccabi are actually the worse side so far...but one shot on target is enough sometimes. :)

Caanen was sent off by the referee, so he is giving orders to Gadi Brumer through his pelephone. :D

Berkovic sees the red card as well!! he must have said something really bad.

Meanwhile Shtrauber saves Siman Tov's penalty - But Zano gets on the rebound and scores, 1:1 after 78 minutes...

How can we blow a win like that?? And no one in rebound, Strauber saves a penalty and they let the rebound go in, come on!!

Ami Azulai from Nazrath got sent off as well, so that's 3 red cards and one suspended coach. :D

An extremely embarassing performance by Maccabi, 3rd draw between both teams this year :googly: Not exactly something to be proud of, Nazrath are in a bad spell and just lost to a second division team in the cup.

If that game is supposed to be Caanen's test it doesn't look very good for him.

Yeah and next week the management will decide his future at least he will have the Cup game to redeem himself. But even though this game was a bit boring, if there was anyone that deserved the victory was Maccabi Tel Aviv. Nazrath Illit plays a boring football, only a sparkle from Shecter is attacative, but Ivanir is worse than Klinger, Thank G-D he didn´t come to Maccabi.

Hi Guys;

Can you tell me a litlle more about the presentation of Elvin Beqiri today? In Livesocre I saw that he get the red card (with another player) and then Nazrath equalized with a penalty ! Did Beqiri provoke the penalty ?

Did Beqiri start the game ?

Thanks a lot !

Beqiri had a normal display today, like all of Maccabi Tel Aviv, it was a very disputed match, but with no emotion regarding only the red cards shown. Beqiri started the game in his usual position as a defensive midfielder. Unfortunately for him and Maccabi he commited a penalty ( which many say it didn´t happen) and was sent off. Maccabi Tel Aviv gets a bit far from Uefa Cup position, so it puts some pressure to win the National Cup.

Thanks a lot Berko !

Hope that Beqiri is going to demonstrate all his potential in your team ! He is at the moment one of the best Albanians defenders !

Unfortunately for him he's been brought into a team in big mess, the club had huge expectations but they crashed very fast. They built a 'Galactico' model kind of team with almost every local superstar available, but things are going pretty bad for them this year. Beqiri will have to pull out a great season in order to stay, nothing less then a cup win and a series of a few clean sheets will be enough I'm afraid, it's hard enough to get noticed as a defender, let alone after today's red card which the fans will probably remember for a long time. His chances to stay also depend on Ton Caanen's future, of course.

And after he was sent off it seems that Berkovic got a bit tempered and insulted referre Meir Levi with "Efes Masriach" and "Ben Zona", not very gentil words to translate:D. According to the IFA the punishment is a minimal two weeks. :googly:

Maybe is too much, but Berkovic shouldn´t have said that and now Maccabi loses all its galacticos for the next round against Hapoel Petah Tikva away.

they are a better team without their galacticos !
they were good enough for the champions league without nimni, berkovic, rosso, yechiel and duarte.

Yeah that team didn´t have any star player it was a team with Klinger´s face on it a lot of determination and counter attack game and they praised the youth players, like the Cohen duo, Mishaelov etc...
