I watched the semi-final in the u-20 championship yesterday between Italy and Portugal. Enzo Maresca, the captain and the star of the team, missed the last penalty to give Portugal a place in the final. Very many good talents in the Italian team. Cassano is brilliant !! Long time ago Italy had a talent of that caliber. Also striker Tarantino from Empoli did impress me a lot. Nice to see that italian soccer do have a future among the best nations. So we don`t end up like Germany with a lots of veterans and no youngsters.

Maresca scored on penalties in both of Italy's first two games and then he's the one to miss the all important one.

Whoever plays good tournaments for Italy seems to miss penalties at the crucial moment. Baggio in 94, Zola against Germany in the euro 96 and Di Biagio in 98.
