Anyway, they have to do something, and to do it fast because Maksimir is going to be prava rusevina ako se nista ne ucini...
A shame for the 10th team at FIFA ranking to play in such conditions... And in addition, it's a high place of our sport history! :proud:

Gospodine iz HNS, spasite Maksimir!! :strong:

I asked this question like 5-6 times here but never got an answer. Why doesn't Mamic himself build/fund a stadium?! Ok I know he maybe may not have that much money but a 20,000-25,000 seat stadium (something like what the NY Red Bulls built) is all a team like Dinamo needs.

I know they are wealthier, but its a shame that Slovenia have better stadiums than Croatia.

There's a reason why stadiums are almost always publicly funded. It doesn't make alot of monetary sense for a club to build there own stadium.

It's really expensive. The revenue you generate isn't really that great. And in 20-30 years your building is back to being old.

Most sports club on this planet are in the red or just eek out a profit. Quite frankly if you want to make money I wouldn't suggest buying a sports team.

That's true CB, but if we're going to think like that then we might as well not have pro sports... The city govt of ZG has to act, otherwise it will never get done.

I know they are wealthier, but its a shame that Slovenia have better stadiums than Croatia.
Never mind Slovenija HS, what about Kasakhstan?? Remember their stadium?? It puts us to shame... It really is amazing that a country whose NT is consistently in the top 15 of world football can have one of the worst infrastructures(football wise) in Europe...

It should be done with a controlled demolition and not be let to fall on the road :D

In any case, we all probably know by now that there wont be a new stadium built, and that Maksimir will be restructured. The stands will be joined and a few things fixed (toilets, entry exit, more stands all around the stadium..) and that will be the extent of the renovations i am afraid :D

On a smaller scale it works this way I agree. For example getting someone to build your house will usually take longer than anticipated and generally cost more than their original quote.

Even on a national level if something is deemed "non urgent" then it will take forever to get around to doing, however, when we oganised the handball world cup and had to build arenas we did it on time, and we did it in style - overspending on every comodity (mainly because we would bend over backwards to show the visitors we are good hosts) :wallbang: while Poland or Italy for example will give them subpar hotels and subpar transport to the venues - which is deemed ok but not 5 star.

I dont think that Maksimir stadium is deemed as important as hospitals, schools and kindergardens, which in a way makes sence.

If your comment was aimed at me - voting Bandić as mayor - I didnt, Zagrepčani did! :coffee:

Blaming Bandić solely for Maksimir is ridicolous anyway, especially when SDP "gradska skupština" makes the final call and decides based on proposals - they havent yet decided either it seems so its at a standstill.

This is the latest from Večernji.

http://www.vecernji.hr/regije/nista-obnove-maksimirskog-stadiona-dinamo-kajzerici-clanak-118554

– To nije najbitnije.
