Vardar sampioni

I'm alredy celebrating here:D Vardar today won over Tikves and Belasica lost so Vardar is now 6 points ahead of Belasica and WE are again champions;)

FK Vardar secured the Prva Liga title with a 6-2 win at home to FK Tikves in the penultimate round of matches.

The victory, coupled with second-placed FK Belasica GC's unexpected 6-1 defeat at third-placed FK Pobeda, gave Vardar an unassailable six-point advantage at the top with just one match left to play. The title is Vardar's second successive championship and fifth overall.

Vardar's latest win was inspired by Oliveira and Bulgarian Mario Petkov, who each scored twice, with Srdjan Zaharievski and Aleksandar Vasoski rounding off the win while Antonio Tasev's two goals were not enough for the away side.

Meanwhile, Pobeda striker Dragan Dimitrovski scored four times in his side's emphatic win, with Cedomir Mijanovic and Gilson also on target and Yuri Stefanisin's last-minute own goal all Belasica could manage.

Wednesday's round of matches saw Vardar defeat Pobeda 4-3, with Bulgarian striker Petkov scoring a hat-trick, while Belasica won 3-1 against FK Sileks, with Zoran Baldovaliev, Pance Stojanov and Sasa Jelovac on the scoresheet.

At the bottom of the table, the last two games saw the relegation candidates confirmed, with FK Kumanovo joined in the second division next season by FK Pelister, whose hopes of avoiding the drop were ended by two defeats, as they lost 6-3 to FK Sloga Jugomagnat on Wednesday and 3-1 to FK Rabotnicki on Saturday.

Their places in the top flight will be taken by KS Bashkimi from Kumanovo and Skopje side FK Madzari, who have confirmed their promotions from the second division.

It is definitelly right that they have produced many great players especially Pandev. When i was watching him when he played for our national team i was so impressed.....
Also Popov is wondeful player....he won the tittle "The best football player in Macedonia" for the year 2002;)

The football club 'BELASICA - GERAS CUNEV" was formed in the distant 1922 and has been active since then. In the club's history there are remarkable achievements in ex-Yugoslavia which these days continue at the playing grounds in Macedonian and Europe.

The club has its own football schools which have produced many players who have defended the colors of the club in Macedonia and out of it. Today "BELASICA - GERAS CUNEV" is a member of the First National League with a very good team and is achieving very high results in the National Leagues writing the history of the Macedonian football. Just to mention the achievements of the generation 1982/83 which in 1987 was the winner of the National Cup of Macedonia for pioneers, in 1988 vice-champion and winners of the National Cup of Macedonia for cadets, in 1999 finalists of the National Cup of Macedonia, in 2000 again finalists of the National Cup of Macedonia and in 2001 they have won the National Cup of Macedonia. With such a results can be mentioned many other generations form the football schools of "BELASICA - GERAS CUNEV".

Makedonska Prva Liga - that sounds so cool! You guys have such a cool language.
This is a little off topic, but how different is Macedonian from Serbian? What are the major differences?

From what I noticed, Serbian names end with ic and Macedonian names end with ska, ski, etc.

Well, Macedonian has definite articles (the -ta ending in words) unlike Serbian which has no articles: i.e., in Serbian "a woman" or "the woman" is just "zhena", while in Macedonian "the woman" would be "zhenata". Also, Macedonian does not have noun cases as does Serbian and most other Slavic languages, i.e. in Serbian "woman" - "zhena", "to the woman" - "zheni", from the woman "od zhene", "on the woman" - "na zhenu" - in Macedonian these distinctions do not exist. These are some of the biggest differences, all in all I believe Serbian has the more complex grammar. Now, although the literary languages can differ significantly, Macedonian is more similiar to the southern Serbian dialects (who also drop certain noun cases, depending on the region). Also there are dialects in Macedonia, some of which are closer to Serbian, some to Bulgarian etc. Macedonian is "in between" Serbian and Bulgarian, that is. Usually a Serbian speaker and a Macedonian speaker can understand each other fairly well.

You are right about name endings, but, those are not exclusive (Serb names can end in ski as well, while Macedonian names can end in ev, for example).

Macedonian uses a Cyrillic alphabet which is a modification of the modern Serbian alphabet (which, is in turn, a modification of previous Cyrillic scipts). In, Macedonian, there is no tch (the 'c' in 'ic') bu instead a soft k' (so the Serbian ic would in Macedonian be ik'), instead of Serbian 'dj' (or 'j' as in 'joke') Macedonians have a soft g', and there exists a letter that looks like 'S' but is prounounced 'dz' (say d as in dog and then z as in zebra quickly one after another) - this sound exists in some southern Serbian dialects but is absent from the literary language.

thx for your explanation to gloryhunter andrija. :) you're both welcome here as often as possible guys.
btw, i 'd just mention that 'tch', 'dj' exist in the macedonian language :) . your examples were exact though. but concerning serbian names we made the distinction between croatian and serbian names but pronouncing serbian names with a k' and croatian names with tch. don't ask me why ?! i don't know. i thought your names didn't end with a tch before your post but with a k' !

p-s : antiturbofolk sounds really good.;)

Thanks a lot!
I've learned a lot about my EE neighbours thanks that detalied grammar lesson from Andrija.

PS I knew that Savicevic was pronounced Savicevich because the Romanian media always spelled it "Savicevici" :) (just like we spell Belodedici)... Talking about multi-culturalism:cool:

Speaking of which, was Belodedic born in Romania? Where? Somewhere around Timisiora (or as we say: Temisvar) perhaps? 'Cause his name is most certainly Serbian and he did play for the youth Yugo team that won the WC in the late 80s.

Yes he was born in Romania - (I think Timisoara or vicinity) and yes he is a Serb-Romanian.

He played for the Yugoslavian youth team? I did not know that.
Did they win the youth WC or the gold in Olympics soccer?

U-20 WC in Chile, 1987.

Anyways, I think I got things mixed up, I don't know from where I got the thing about the youth team (could be right, but not sure, can't find any reference to it on the net). Belodedic did play for the ECC-winning Red Star team though. That's probably what I was thinking of.

Belodedic did play for the ECC-winning Red Star team though. That's probably what I was thinking of.
Yeah, I knew that.
Last I heard, Belo is now teaching football lessons to various highschool students in Spain, and earns about $2,000 a month. What a shame....:(

well things are going a bit off topic here but still very interesting. belodedic was the greatest libero i've ever seen. clean, safe and really efficient. if we had to compare him to the greatests, i think he was far better than the WC 98 winner laurent blanc... it was the same kind of player. i'm sad and surprised to hear belodedic isn't coaching a romanian 1st division side right now. i always thought he would become a good coach.
