I expect many XT Croats will be quite butthurt about this guy in 3-4 years when they extol the virtues of Luka Modric to their Yank/Canuck coworkers and these will inevitably confuse him with Luka Doncic.

There is only Drazen and no one else will ever compare to him.

whatever happened to Dragan Bender? wasn't he supposed to be the next Balkan superstar?

and whatever happened to Mario Hezonja? :D

Croatia sure seems to be good at producing NBA draft busts these days

What happened to Hezonja? The Orland Magic happened. A useless organization that doesn't have a clue how to handle their young talent. Oladipo gone, Payton gone, Tobias Harris gone all for practically nothing. Hezonja was injured last season and couldn't perform that well. So what was their answer? To decline his player option. Then he gets healthy and starts performing really well. It's slowed down a little lately but he was averaging some pretty great numbers late this season when he actually got playing time.

Have a look at the Magic forums. They are crying for him to come back, and management are kicking themselves for letting him go.

As for Bender, he's still raw. Still seems afraid to push himself. Needs to put some weight on. He's still very young.

You forgot to mention Dario Saric? Beasting and feasting with the Sixers. What about Bojan Bogdanovic? Helping to lead a Pacer team who no one thought would sniff the playoffs now considered one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference. Ante Zizic also coming in off the bench for the Cavs and playing really well.

yeah Saric is doing really well, one of the most underrated players in the league

I mentioned Hezonja and Bender because they were top 5 picks on consecutive years
Fair enough. Hezonja I think once he gets to a new team and actually plays consistent minutes will put up decent numbers.

Bender is still a learning process. The guy shows snippets of what he can do here and there, but is mostly being used as a 3 point shooter, and when thats not falling (like most of the time) he doesn't have an offensive impact in the game. He's defence is apparently good though.

If you guys had to pick one of either Jokic or Porzingis who would you pick ?
Man that's tough. Porzingis is more your go to guy scorer, excellent shooter, shot blocker. Jokic is pretty much a point center with alot of plays starting with him holding the ball. Another good shooter.

I'm going to have to go with Anthony Davis. :D

It's a pretty easy call really: Jokic

Hes already among the best bigs in the league...super efficient and versatile player with a BB IQ through the roof.

KP hasn't really developed that much during these 3 years and will never be the rebounder or ball mover/assist maker Jokic is. To be honest, KP is also overrated defensively...he gets a bunch of blocks thanks to his length but lets people blow past him so often. And he's had niggling injury problems every season + the current big one which definitely stunts his development somewhat.

Could be. Funny how the best Yugoslav basketballers are all Slovenian. Right now Goran Dragic is easily the best Yugo player ever.
