Internazionale have set their sights on Arsenal midfielder Frederik Ljungberg, reportedly offering £10 million for the Swedish international.
Despite the fact that Ljungberg has not set Euro 2000 alight, the Mail on Sunday reports that Inter wish to make the winger the most expensive Swedish player ever.
Should the deal go through, the transfer fee would comfortably surpass Jesper Blomqvist’s £5 million move from Parma to Manchester United in 1998.
Ljungberg may meet a future team-mate in the Sweden-Italy group B encounter on Monday night. Inter’s Luigi Di Baggio is set to replace Demetrio Albertini in central midfield.
