Lithuania - Poland

Faro, Algarve stadium - 7/02/2009 19H20 -

The list of candidates was published for the Lithuanian national team’s friendly matches with Poland and Andorra in early February. Both games will take place in Portugal.

In the list of 27 players – five are from Lithuanian clubs and another five currently do not have contracts with any clubs and are free agents.

Only two goalkeepers were invited as this time there was no place for Paulius Grybauskas. In defense Marius Žaliūkas and Tomas Žvirgždauskas were left out, but Nerijus Radžius who just signed a contract with Polish club LKS Lodz was included after an absence.

The midfield will be missing Hearts winger Saulius Mikoliūnas who has been injured for the last couple of months and has just recently recovered. Jose Couceiro called up Andrius Jokšas who plays in Ukraine for the first time.

Club less Robert Poškus and veteran Edgaras Jankauskas are missing from the strikers list, however, Valdas Trakys who has been on good form for Ekranas recently has been invited.

Lithuania will meet Poland on the 7th of February 19:20 local time in the city of Faro, Algarve Stadium. This game will be shown live on Sport 1. And on February the 11th, Lithuania will play Andorra.
