Real Valladolid: Diego Mariño; Rukavina, Rueda, Peña, Bergdich; Sastre, Rossi; Ebert, Omar, Rama; Javi Guerra.

Atlético: Courtois; Javi Manquillo, Miranda, Godín, Filipe; Mario, Gabi; Koke, Raúl García; Diego Costa and Villa.

Surprised by Mario's inclusion in the starting line-up. The rest is pretty much like expected. Manquillo is making his debut. First competetive game since the beginning of July for him. Let's see if Raúl García continues playing as well as he did against Rayo and Almería.

Easily the worst half of football I've seen Atleti play this year. Arda is sorely missed. This is why we should have invested in another attacking midfielder during the transfer season instead of another defensive midfielder.

0-1. Raúl García.

He's such a strange player. Plays really badly and then scores goals. I suppose he saw that Cholo was preparing a substitution and decided to score a goal..Important goal. Hopefully this'll open up Valladolid who're a good defensive side and have a good coach.

Cholo always wanted a playmaker but Doyen weren't going to help out with a #10 because Diego doesn't have a sell on value.

Diego Costa, for gods sake. That has to be the second goal. Horrible finish.

Cholo has to take off Raúl García who's exhausted. Léo is perfect for counter attacks.

0-2 by Diego Costa. Assisted by Koke.

Atleti already looked much better at the start of the second half but it's undeniable that Arda adds an extra gear to this team.

I agree with you on Raul Garcia, Zoric. Never been a big fan but he has developed a knack for scoring goals.

Five straight wins in the league so far. We can't complain. It won't be easy to win against these type of teams after Champions League-games and even more so when the team is travelling to other countries in midweek. Improvements can always be made but the primary thing is to get the three points. Mission accomplished.

What a team. What a coach.

Ever since Simeone became the boss Atletico has been on the rise. They lost important players like Diego and Falcao yet it did not stop Atletico from becoming even better. Simeone truly has been phenomenal.

El derbi Madrileño will be very interesting next weekend. It'll be interesting where the team stands as opposed to Madrid. Remains to be seen what Atleti can do in that game. It's just a shame I won't be there, got a 100%-record when I'm on these games :D

Though it has to be said, Atleti haven't done anything they didn't last year in the league so far in terms of collected wins.

First though, Osasuna in midweek.

What a team. What a coach.

If the team continues working to improve every day (and has the desire to do so), then they'll continue growing. That's the secret behind the success so far. Simeone keeps repeating these things time after another but it's the truth IMO.

I've really been impressed by the kind of player Diego Costa seems to have turned into.

The guy fights for every ball and seems to have supreme confidence with the skills to back it up.

Will Manquilo start again tomorrow? I understand Simeone has said that there will be 5 changes from last game...so I'm guessing Tiago will come in for Gabi or Mario Suarez? Turan will start ahead of Koke on left, Juanfran in for Manquillo? Rodriguez for Raul Garcia? Maybe even TOby gets his debut for Miranda or Godin, or Filipe rested for Insua.

lol forgot about Villa going of with a strain, so guess he wont start! now im just rambling! Point is you have great depth now! Atletico are officially my favourite team to watch and bet on at the moment!

That's the main difference between this team and prior Atleti teams that were top heavy.

I personally think Atlético can add several player profiles to the squad and make it even stronger. That's a process though and we haven't got the money available right now, so little by little, it'll just get better. As long as the players have the same mind set.
