Atlético will play their first home game on Vicente Calderón against Osasuna on 28 August. The whole thing about this game though is that it's being played at 12:00. Villarreal and Mallorca played the only game on at this time last season.

Raúl García to return to Vicente Calderón right away? Most likely.

Falcão will not be making his debut for Atlético tomorrow against Osasuna because Porto haven't handed in his transfer papers, well, he might sit on the bench if they actually do it, slight hope from Manzano's side. Koke is injured and won't be able to participate either, everyone's fit otherwise. Arda did make the team though after his injury problems early, still uncertain if he'll play though.

Courtois y Joel; Godín, Antonio López, Filipe, Sìlvio, Domínguez, Perea y Miranda; Mario Suárez, Tiago, Reyes, Paulo Assunçao, Gabi, Arda Turan, Salvio y Juanfran; Adrián, Borja y Falcão.

They're different type of players. Tiago and Paulo have got EU-passports. Elías doesn't. That's why he's being shipped.

That's something we'll have to see. Manzano haven't said anything. Joel should have the advantage considering he's played in the important games, you never know though. It's still a battle for #1.

Starting 11:

Courtois

Silvio
Perea
Domínguez
Filipe

Gabi
Mario
Tiago

Salvio
Reyes
Adrián

At HT it is 0-0. Missed majority of the half due to the odd timing of the match.

will be interesting to see if atletico can make use of arda's qualities or if arda can manage to be useful for atletico. hard to tell after his 30 minutes today.

Adrian is shit. He's a backup at best. Surprised Atletico signed him to begin with.

The 4-3-3 just didn't seem to work really. Maybe it will be different with Falcao coming in.

A pretty disciplined performance. The team didn't manage to get the breakthrough, part of it has to do with Atlético missing creativity, especially during the first half, possibly because the players have had approx. 50 hours to prepare this game so the runs aren't coming as frequently as they should and without the runs, it's hard to play a 4-3-3. Gabi looked somewhat tired at times despite really giving his all while Tiago didn't really contribute much in terms of passing the ball forward. Mario was good, he won plenty of ball on the pitch which allowed us to have possession. These are the type of games we need Elías in and that's why I always wanted him to stay rather than having Salvio.

Osasuna only defended, all game long and it would've been so unfair if they ended up winning the game. Atlético had their chances; Salvio, Adrián and Reyes all should've scored today if they were a bit more precise and to some extent lucky. Not a surprise though since Osasuna have drawn their opening game five seasons in a row. Manzano still haven't won a single opening game in Liga since he started coaching, always went on losing, this time though, a draw.

What a miss by Nino at the end :D Very good set up play by Lamah. Looks an interesting signing for Osasuna.

Atleti didn't get behind Osasuna enough and although having some moments Osasuna were pretty comfortable defensively.

Simply because the players were drained out. The same set of players played 90 minutes against Vitória Guimarães on Thursday and yet LFP is scheduling this game at noon for some reason. Atlético played some great stuff just a couple of days ago but such is life, sometimes you're not going to break down these teams. An Arsenal-fan should know something about hitting the crossbar and not being able to break down a team, if anything.

Let's see what the transfer window can bring us.

Also, what's with Porto not turning in Falcao's transfer papers? What kind of amateur bullshit is that?
How about you do some research before throwing out accusations?

YOUR CLUB have not made the first payment, so Porto, in agreement to the stock exchange rules, did not send the transfer permits.

Same thing with Ruben Micael, he can't play for Zaragoza yet because your club haven't made the first payment.

Once again, blame your own club's stupidity, and please don't imply that a club like Porto do ANYTHING amateurishly. This is a club run professionally with more structure and brains than Atletico could ever dream of.

When Falcão got transferred to Atlético, the both clubs agreed the first payment would be made on August 31. The player was never going to play against Osasuna, it's just the media didn't know this and then everyone got "shocked". One firm from USA will pay €21 million which is the first installment, Atlético will pay that sum and 8% interest in four years time to this firm. That's why Falcão wasn't available.
