Primeira Liga 2015/2016

Jornada 6

Estádio do Bessa, Porto
26 September 2015, 21:45 CET

Ref: Artur Soares Dias (AF Porto)

Boavista 0-0 SPORTING CP

************

All eyes on Bessa where we can take a big step forward by beating Boavista and getting a 2 point lead over Porto who flopped last night against Moreirense (with the precious contribution of our great loanies Iuri Medeiros and Palhinha!). A large bunch of Northern Lions is expected to support the team up there as it's been usual.

JJ called Matheus Pereira for the first time but the big news are that King William is back! :proud:

Here's the complete list of players called for this match:

Two changes:

João Pereira returns to the RB position, Esgaio is on the bench.

In form Fredy Montero replaces his compatriot Teo Gutiérrez.

Slimani scores and Artur Soares Dias calls it off. Impossible to see anything illegal in this goal.

A replay of a previous Sporting attack shows a Boavista defender cutting the ball with his arm inside the box. Nothing was called that time.

Clean goal completely disallowed. And Slimani gets carded for it apparently.
Nominating a well known Portista for this game was not innocently done, of course.

João Pereira is called offside when he was alone in front of the keeper. On the replay it's clear he wasn't offside.

Great chance for Montero with the shot blocked very close to the goal line.

And JP clean in on goal and linesman calls offside. How do you make that call? He was on by the left back who kept him on. O colinho ja comecou

Two Sporting players clattered by Boavista defenders in two different situations, not even a yellow showed.

One more great chance for Sporting with Slimani's header being very well saved by the keeper.

A first half that went exactly as expected.

Boavista defending with 8 players not having any problem in distributing all sorts of friendly gifts to the legs of our players.

Artur Soares Dias trying to do to his Porto what FCP's players and their coach couldn't do yesterday. One clean goal disallowed, a possible penalty for handball not called and a bad offside call on a goal scoring situation: not bad for only 45 minutes.

Sporting created several chances but it's one of those games where we will have to play 200% to win. Great job by Slimani upfront with much more help by Montero than it's been the case when Teo played.

A clear foul on Gelson very close to the box. Nothing called. The party restarted.

JJ makes the first sub at 58':

Teo IN for Montero.

Didn't like this one.

What a miss by Teo after a deadly assist by Gelson.

At 65' second sub:

Carlos Mané IN for Bryan Ruiz.

Logical.
