After that superb demonstration of strength against Porto last Saturday that took us back to the top spot of our league, we will face today one of the teams that is playing better attacking football in Portugal. Vitória de Setúbal have a very good attack but their defence is leaky and Sporting has enough arguments to beat them.

JJ called for the first time two of the newcomers, LB Marvin Zeegelaar (ex-Rio Ave) and midfielder Bruno César (ex-Estoril). I doubt any of them will start but we'll see.

I'll be following this one at the oldest supporters club of Sporting, "O Solar dos Leões" in my hometown of Almada.

Here's the list of players called for the game by JJ:

Starting line-up is out with only one change from the team that started against Porto: Bruno César starts after his first call in the place of Matheus.

Great Solid first half by SCP up 0-2 and can hopefully close out the three points in the second half

Chuta Chuta decisive on his Debut , assessing for Slimani and scoring himself with a terrific finish from the edge of the area.

0-6 baby

onto the next one

oh and we are CAMPEOES DO INVERNO
because Porto tied 1-1 and we now have a four point lead heading into the final round of the primeira volta (a tough game against Braga).

still many matches to go but Chuta Chuta proved today he can make our attack stronger in this second leg of the league championship.

SPOOORTING!

Vitória de Setúbal 0-6 SPORTING - FT

Fantastic display by Sporting completely anihilating one of the Top 5 teams of this league. Always in control of the game, sometimes playing great football (the entire play for the 3rd game was school book stuff and João Mário's goal and assist to Aquilani were pure gold) and another strong statement to show who's the best.

Bruno César had a dream debut: two goals, one assist and an overall gutsy and positive display bringing energy and attitude to our attacking midfield. Adrien, Slimani, Bryan Ruiz and João Mário were all superb as well.

We haven't even reached the middle of the league (it will happen in the next round) but the 4 points of advantage that we have now over both of our direct rivals are a clear showing of our superiority. Let's keep fighting and we'll do it!
