To be honest there is very little interest by most of Sporting's fans of what happens on the pitch in this rest of season. The real game will be in the ballots next weekend.

Line-up for the game about to start:

Rui Patrício

Cédric - Tiago Ilori - Marcos Rojo - Joãozinho

Rinaudo - Eric Dier

Labyad

Bruma - Ricky van Wolfswinkel - Diego Capel

Subs: Marcelo Boeck, Jeffrén, Carrillo, Adrien, André Martins, Fokobo and Gaël Etock.

Great effort by Bruma but Labyad finished too high inside the box.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

1-0 at 16'

Amoreirinha slides in trying to avoid that Ricky would tap in after a great move on the right side and ends up scoring an own goal. Deserved lead as Sporting is the only team attacking so far.

Eric Dier clearly pushed inside Setúbal's box. Penalty not called by the ref.

Makukula makes it 1-2 to Setúbal at 33' after Pedro Santos made his 459th cross beating Joãozinho.

Fantastic move by Labyad dribbling 4 players and shooting but the keeper saved against the post.

Again the post saves Setúbal, this time Capel hitting it with a header and in the follow up a defender saves on the goal line after Ricky's shot.

Another great move by Bruma but Ricky's back heel touch went wide.

A very good first half from Sporting, mainly attacking wise, with Bruma and Labyad creating havoc upfront, constantly breaking the back of Setúbal's defenders. We should be up by at least 2 goals, so many were the goal chances created. Two shots hitting the post and a penalty robbed by the ref were just some of those.

Setúbal defends poorly but manages to create danger whenever the ball reaches their very good right winger Pedro Santos, who's been giving Joãozinho a really tough night.

Constant attack by Sporting in this second half so far with Bruma, Labyad and Capel leading the show.

One more big chance for us this time RvW curling his shot just a little wide off the post.

A lively second half, more open than the first as although Sporting kept creating chances, the narrow margin always hanged in the air creating too much stress to this very nervous squad.

We should have scored much more than two goals, so many were the goals chances created. I honestly can't remember the last time we attacked so much and so well. On the other hand, defensively we didn't have a good game, particularly in those terrible dead ball situations.

Good game by Labyad, Bruma, van Wolfswinkel and Dier. Poor game by Joãozinho (defending).

All in all it was a more than deserved win even if it should have really been a much fatter one.

I agree , this was one of sportings better performances and unlucky not to score
More

I think with a few adjustments we can do a lot better next season, our goal scoring has been the main problem all season Lonng

Also funny how despite our bad season we seem to post here when other clubs fight for championships and don't post about their games,
Guess there isn't much to be proud of winning games with no academy or even national players , I'm
Proud guys like
Bruma illory etc get to break through for us
