Sporting is back in league action tonight this time to visit Estoril Praia who currently is one position in the table above us with the same points. It's a tough place to go as Estoril is having a very good campaign and are led by a very competent young Portuguese coach.

There is hope that a similar display of energy and pride to the one shown last week against Gil Vicente can happen once again today.

Jesualdo still can't count with Schaars and Boulahrouz. Joãozinho is suspended. Adrien was not called. On the other hand Marcos Rojo and Jeffrén have recovered from their injuries and have both been called.

Here's the starting XI:

Rui Patrício
Miguel Lopes - Eric Dier - Tiago Ilori - Marcos Rojo
Zézinho - Rinaudo
Diego Capel - Labyad - Bruma
Ricky van Wolfswinkel

Subs: Marcelo Boeck, Cédric, Fokobo, André Martins, Carrillo, Jeffrén e Diego Rubio.

Two changes from the team that started in Barcelos with Rojo replacing Joãozinho as LB and Capel starting instead of Carrillo.

Good to see all the kids back in action but I would really have prefered to see André Martins instead of Labyad.

Beautiful attacking move with Bruma launching RvW inside the box and the Dutchie finishes with a low shot near the post. Perfect start. 1-0 at 4'

Great shot from very far by Eric Dier but the keeper saved for a corner.

And now the floodlights are off. :rollani:

Good first 20' with Sporting starting once again very strong with all the front players constantly changing positions and causing havoc on Estoril's defence. The hosts tried to react with a couple of free kicks but they haven't really tested Rui Patrício.

After 15' break due to a lightning that hit one of the floodlight towers the game will now restart.

Sporting restarted once again very strong and Estoril is only managing to contain our game through constant fouling.

Estoril gets half a chance after recovering a lost ball in midfield but Patrício showed bravery on this one.

And out of nowhere Estoril makes it 2-1 after Rui Patrício was too slow to react to a pass and kicked Licá inside the box. He was lucky to see only a yellow there but Steven Vitória didn't miss from the spot. 2-1 to Estoril at 40' after a silly mistake.

A well played first half with a very high tempo. Sporting started stronger and once again went ahead on the score very early. Estoril reacted but didn't create danger until the floodlight break. After that Sporting started once again better but the hosts reacted once more and ended up reaching a somehow deserved equalizer. Their second gaol was one of those silly self-inflicted mistakes that we've been so prone to this season even if it came from a player, Patrício, that did not use to have one of those for a very long time.

We played more than enough not to be behind on the score but now we have to fight back. The problem is that our new style of direct football can't last the whole game and we need someone to hold better the ball in midfield. André Martins could be that man.

Goodlong range shot by Zezinho, keeper saves for corner. RvW gets a free header a little over the bar.

Ridiculous offside call on Rubio after he forces Vagner to a great save.

At 76' Carrillo suffers a clumsy challenge inside the box and it's a penalty. Once again this season van Wolfswinkel blows it. :palm:

And at 79' Carlos Eduardo does 3-1 from a perfect direct free-kick. Game over.
