First league game under Jesualdo's management comes in a torrid time for the club. Sporting's fans are right now more interested to know what will happen with the request for an extraordinary GA made by a large group of sócios with the intent of kicking out the filth that has been running the club than to know if we will manage to win our 5th game of the season.

Jesualdo called Miguel Lopes and he will immediately be a starter after arriving at the club this week. Here's the starting XI:

Rui Patrício

Miguel Lopes - Boulahrouz - Marcos Rojo - Ínsua

Rinaudo

Jeffrén - Adrien

Labyad - Ricky van Wolfswinkel - Diego Capel

Subs: Marcelo Boeck, Xandão, Pereirinha, Eric Dier, Zézinho, Viola and Carrillo.

Labyad is on fire today. Now he broke the kidneys of two defenders and made a deadly cross that unfortunately didn't find anyone inside the box to tap in. Good first 30' from Sporting.

Do you think there is any truth to the Labyad rumors, Filipe?

Just turned the game on now, you guys are looking good.

As long as GL is our president I think all Sporting players are on the verge of signing for FCP.

I honestly can't remember the last time I've said this but this was a good first half from Sporting. I don't know if it's already the Professor's touch but the truth is that we showed a very different attitude in these first 45' from just about all games so far this season. We've controlled the game leaving very little time and space for Olhanense to prove their self-appointed favouritism in this match. A good game by both full backs Miguel Lopes and Insúa, a cohesive midfield led in the back by Rinaudo and upfront by Adrien and some very active work upfront by Jeffrén, Capel and above all Labyad, who was unrecognizable as he was our best player so far. Let's see if we can keep up the rhythm and grab these precious 3 points.

Once again Labyad involved in the goal winning the ball and assisting Adrien for a beautiful shot on the top left tier. Deserved score.

Boulahrouz almost makes the 3rd after a corner.

Second sub at 75': Labyad replaced by Zézinho, who debuts for the first team in league games.

The dark ages of 2012/13 might be starting to finish. We've managed to win away after almost 9 months - the worst series in the history of the club - and we've managed to win two straight matches for the first time this season. Wow.

More important than these stats, that have made a field day to our lovely, and completely unbiased, sports press, is the fact that Sporting played in a very different way from what we've made until now this season. No knee jerking at the back, control in the midfield, movement off the ball and a self-confidence that was totally absent this season under any of the three previous coaches.

Now let's get rid of this president and start rebuilding this great club.
