Independiente under Pastoriza is intent on getting back their old glories. The have started well this year and have gotten a few good players to mingle the youths and should pose a difficult team in this tournament.

They are facing Cienciano the Copa Sudamericana champion in what promise to be a good game. The Peruvians demonstrated that they are capable to play against anyone in South America.

So far I think this may be best Argie performance of the Libertadores so far, with the possibly exception of Rosario Central victory over Olimpia. Manzo, Lozada and Gimenes were unstopable.

another excellent display by indpendiente, but this time in the local tournament. after a terrible performance in the summer, they started in the best way both tournaments.
lets see if they handle the copa libertadores and the clausura at the same time, like boca did.
