Veron once again at Formello Posted April 13, 2002 - 12:04 by Mattias
Lazio is training right now at Formello and will this afternoon leave the training ground to go to Florence, where Lazio tomorrow will face Fiorentina.

And once again, among the players training at Formello, Juan Sebastian Veron. The Argentine Man Utd midfielder was last week in Rome, but returned to Manchester to play in the Champions League. After the victory against Deportivo La Coruna, the former Lazio star returned to Rome and he is today training beside together with Hernan Crespo. Like the many times Veron has been in Rome before, he is training with Lazio's shirt.
..........................

OK. I've had enough of this.

Veron is in, Veron is out. He's ManU player, He's Lazio player. He denies, Than comes back to Rome. He's injured, He's back in Rome. He's not on the ManU bench, he's back in Rome....

Explain this to me....

How would any of us feel if Crespo spends his days off with Parma? Like going on their training grounds, chatting with management, wearing Parma's jersey in the meantime....?

How in hell am i , a humble and modest fan:angel: :D ,
to ignore Veron's return rumors? How am i supposed to think of financial situation and what will his eventual return home;) cost us. How am i supposed to believe all those denials in the press, " Manu is the team i want to play for, i feel good here" and so on....

I know this is a point where dreams interfier with reality. Getting Veron back will be close to impossible task....

Fergie, I'm sure wants him to stay for at least another season. We still owe them money for Stam, and last, his price will be higher than what we sold him for.....The only way i can see him coming back is if ManU accepts some sort of a deal for Mandietta or if Mandy and some others are sold and all of that money put forward for Veron.

I know I'm dreaming, but there are just too many sign for me to bear. This dream is dangerous. Bringing Veron to Lazio is my dream come true and my worst nightmare at the same time.....

Seba......can you hear me? tell me whats going on?

Two things seems clear enough. First thing is that Lazio want Veron back (or are pretending to want him back in order to keep getting mentioned in the press). Second thing is that it would take a massive sell-out to make space for Veron, and not only for economic reasons but for practical squad-space reasons. We have too many central midfielders as it is (including a supposed playmaker in Liverani a supposed football player in Mendieta), we are being heavily linked to both Dacourt and Van Bommel, and it's very unclear which of the current first team regulars that will be sold to make space for whoever gets bought.

All I want is Baronio back and a left winger, preferebly Kily. If Veron comes, it'll be a huge bonus.

And the soap opera that is Lazio continiues.... I wouldn't be surprised if the deals with Dcourt and Van Bommel fall thorugh. Afterall the papers hasn't been signed yet. It might even turn out that Dacourt and Van Bommel is only bought to be used as make weight for a possible Veron swap. The football transfers are madness.

There is no doubt Veron wants to return to Lazio. I mean, when he is injured he is always in Rome for treatment. Don't they have doctors in England? However, he won't come cheap and Man U has the upper hand as we still owe them money. We need to sell a lot of midfielders to make room for Veron, but Cragnotti has done crazy stuff before, so I belive in Veron's return. Which could also mean Crespo would want to stay.

Veron would be back no doubt... I think they already agreed because I doubt that Fergie would accept to see him training elsewhere if he was that precious to him..
plus, Sorin is signed as Veron wished and Lazio is chasing Burdisso... Crespo is off the market too...

Veron is definitly back!:star:

Give us Nesta & Crespo for Veron & paid off debt and we'll say nothing about it :)

I think Veron is finding it tough to forget about Lazio and frequently returns just to see his mates are doing and how many places Lazio have dropped in the league since last time he visited.

Fergie said that Veron won't leave and i think Veron wants to finish his contract, I believe Veron won't leave for atleast 2 years unless a *special* transfer is allowed.

Then howcome he spends more time in Rome than in Manchester? Every single time he is just slightly injured he's on the first plane to Rome. Aren't there any doctors associated to Man Utd? And when in Rome he trains at Formello wearing a Lazio shirt.

If a Lazio player left Rome all the time to train with some other team I would be pretty worried.

Nesta and Crespo to Man Utd? :dielaugh:

Crespo is going to leave for a Spanish team I reckon, but not until his contract runs out.

Quit dreaming about Veron since you won't get him back for a few years unless you pay up and sell stars. If Lazio wanted him and he wanted to go back tell me exacly how your going to buy him with no money? Sell Crespo? You'd still not have enough since Manchester won't sell him back to you for lets say...30Mill & you have debts. Sell Nesta too ? Then you'd have no stars.

Fergie wants Veron to stay for sure, he even says Veron can still be a legend at Manchester and i'm sure Veron doesn't want to quit his first season.

I don't know where Verons loyalities lie, and to be honest i don't care much since at this moment he's a Man United player and not a Lazio player.

I'd be all too happy for a trade between Veron-Nesta or Veron-Crespo.

So what you're saying is that you prefer to see us suffering about losing Veron than to see him showing his loyalty to United and playing well for your club? You don't care much that one of YOUR players is training in OUR clubs training ground and wearing OUR clubs shirt, as long as you get to rub it in to us that he is not plaing in Lazio anymore?!?!?! :wth: You sure your priorities are in the right order?

This proves again that Societa Sportiva Lazio is not just another club like many others, it is a passion, love and obsession that can't be let go of once it is a part of your life!

FORZA LAZIO ORA E SEMPRE!!!! :strong:

Or maybe, he doesn't like MU because he can't play over there ... I read rumours that Lazio players even cannot stand each other ... esp: Miha

Wishful thinking once more... Just one comment:

"There is no doubt Veron wants to return to Lazio. I mean, when he is injured he is always in Rome for treatment. Don't they have doctors in England? "

The Doctor over there know's him well. A lot of players visit prior teams Doctors, it aint no big thing.
Its his specialist who hes had for yrs and they know each other very well,
If he were to get a new doctor for his injuries it would take them a long time to get a good working relationship like what he has with his Italian doctor.
If we signed a player from a London club and he returned their for treatment no one would bat an eye lid, same thing here.
Other players go abroad for treatment, Steven Gerard goes to France regullary for example.
Roy Keane has gone to Denver for his knee, and I doubt he has a desire to join the Denver Nuggets basketball team
:D

You got things messed up. As for Keane and Gerrard, it is specialists and Gerrard never played in France and Veron is not in Rome for a specialist, it's every chance he gets, he goes to Rome.
Veron played with us for years? he played two seasons with us and why does he pick exactly Lazio to get treatment? He could go to Parma or Sampdoria. Or even back to Argentina. You tell me.

It does happen;)

Everyone, not only players prefer to have "standard" doctor. The one that knows you "inside-out".

And at the same time, some teams just have better doctors than others. Lazio's medical team is good, very good. Salas had an opertaion in Rome, rather than Turin. Similary, Red Star ex-Doc was known to take care of the players all over the world, even long time after they left the team and even foreign players used to come to Belgrade or he would travell around the world to take care of injured knees;)

I have to admit that there is some truth in Veron coming to Rome for medical attention. On the other hand, he never sold his house there and his visits to Rome are just too frequent to be a coincidence......

Bringing Veron back to Lazio is close to impossible, i cant deny that. I just think that Veron, if given a chance wouldnt think twice of which one is his prefered team. I'm in no way stating that Lazio is better than any other team in the world, Just that Veron considers Rome his second home.

BTW, Veron's aganet had another meeting with Crag yesterday;)

Listen to aca laziali.

THIS was aca's head speaking:

"Bringing Veron back to Lazio is close to impossible, i cant deny that. "

THIS was aca's heart speaking:

"BTW, Veron's aganet had another meeting with Crag yesterday;)"

Okay I'm not gonna argue myself blue with you lot, because you're lazio fans and of course would like one of your favorite players back. You can argue whatever you want, in the end Veron will stay at Manchester United, and I'm not as stupid as to waste loads of time here "discussing" this with you lot when I know that Veron ain't going anywhere :D
Be realistic, you'll probably have some trouble keeping your present key players in your team, let alone get one of the most expensive players in the world. You've got enough worries on your head.
End of discussion, case closed. I'm out, you can keep on happily discussing dream transfers.
Sleep tight ;)

It doesnt cost anything to dream;)

On the other hand, seeing a player wasted in a team is costly. For the team, and for the player;)

Veron's transfer IS a dream. and sometimes, just sometimes, dreams come true;)

IF you do not dream, there's no "coming true" at all;)

sleep tight too;)

Cragnotti Reopens Veron Saga
News Archive

04/18/2002. Lazio president Sergio Cragnotti has told the Italian press that he still harbours hopes of bringing Juan Sebastian Veron back to his former club.

The Argentine joined Manchester United in a £28 million deal in the summer but since the move he's been constantly linked with a return to Rome where he still has a house.

After a fine start to the Premership season Veron has failed to live up to his high billing and has spoken of his desire to one day return to Lazio.

"He is an objective and there is no use denying it," said Cragnotti in Thursday's Corriere dello Sport.

"The last word will obviously be from Manchester United but we are ready to bid for him."

all i have to say is:

if veron does want to come back to lazio, and everyone knows how keep lazio are to get him back...

well it just puts the ball in uniteds court, and they have a very powerful bargaining position..

and well know how lazio is stupid with money( morespecifically crag)

therefore it would not be undue for fergie to ask for say something int he region of 35 Million pounds for him (if not 40)

then we will see if lazio really wants him....
