Leicester have been relegated from the Premiership today after a 1-0 loss at home to Manchester United. The Foxes have really been in trouble right from Day 1 of the season, and will now be playing Division One football next season. It's a sad day for fans of Leicester, but I am sure it won't be long before they are back in the top flight.

Ciao Leicester and all the best :)

Sad really, but it was inevitable since Leicester's freefall started in the second half of last season. Up to then, they were doing really well. Guess it's because Taylor bought very poorly (e.g. Akinbiyi turned out to be a dud) and a bad run of results and injuries didn't help.

Surely they'll lose some of their better players- Izzet, Elliott and even Savage- to Premiership clubs but I wonder if they'll come straight back up?

This is great. Splitter Adams takes over as Manager the weekend Brighton are promoted and Leicester are relegated. We'll have a 'special welcome' for him when he returns to the Withdean with his new team.

Fans not bowled over by stadium name

Wednesday 10 April 2002
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leicester City have decided to change the name of their new ground to The Walkers Stadium after the original choice received widespread criticism.

Last week the Foxes announced that under a new 10-year deal with Walker Snacks Ltd the new £35million stadium would be called The Walkers Bowl. But the name was derided by fans and after discussions between officials the decision to revert to the less-Americanised name has been reached.

Walkers chief executive Martin Glenn said: "We pride ourselves as a business on listening to what our customers like and want and that is no different to the naming of the Leicester City stadium. We have listened and learned and acted. We have had long discussions with the club itself and we have both agreed that we will drop bowl from the name of the stadium and it will now be known as The Walkers Stadium."
