Franck Leboeuf insists he has done all there is to do in England and claims he is eager for a change of scene.
Gianfranco Zola is being strongly linked with a return to the Naples club, with Leboeuf, 32, now seeming to declare his wish to follow in the little striker's footsteps.
Leboeuf, currently with the rest of the France squad for a pre-Euro 2000 warm-up tournament in Morocco, said: "I have seen everything I meant to see in England and won everything I meant to win.
"It has been a good experience. I have met some amazing people, both within football and outside it.
"But now I want something different. I would really love to be able to train and play in a warmer climate and appear in front of Latin crowds.
"I've been told my friend Zola is likely to join Napoli.
"And all things taken into account, I would not be unhappy to go with him."
The southern Italian outfit, which enjoys massive support, is currently on the brink of a return to Serie A.
They are already seeking a number of top-quality reinforcements and now know both Leboeuf and Zola are eager to play for them.
