This game I would probably start another Attacking mid, so we can profit from Siena's weak squad. Will post squad of choice later.DISCUSS.

2-0 is my prediction.

Rossi is really touching in his tries to give the remaining games some importance, he said that theoretically Lazio can still grab a place in the UEFA Cup by winning all the 6 games left. Aye... I understand that a coach has to be a motivator too, but given that in a few days' time there's the semifinal against Inter, Rossi better field the Primavera against Siena, or still better, send someone to the Corso or the Fori Imperiali to persuade some tourists to play next Sunday :)

Anyway, Siena have never been a piece of cake for us, and with Bianchi, Behrami and Siviglia with light injuries, I expect Rossi to field some reserve footballers.

Muslera / Zauri (De Silvestri) - Cribari - Rozenhal - Kolarov / Dabo - Ledesma - Mudingayi / Meghni / Rocchi - Pandev (Tare)

I'd like to see Rozenhal play a game from the start. He hasn't really been much of a regular since joining us, while he does have a lot of potential. And this match should be another good opportunity for Muslera to regain some confidence between the sticks.

Agree. So far Rozenhal himself should have wondered "What am I doing here, apart from enjoying the Roman springtime?" :) And in the match against Parma he has shown he can be part of the "Lazio project", as our beloved president likes to call it...
As for the game, I imagined a kind of rotation, but according to Gazzetta, Rossi will do quite a revolution:

Muslera 1
Zauri 8 - Siviglia 13 - Rozenhal 7 - Radu 2
Mudingayi 26 - Baronio 10 - Mutarelli 5
Mauri 11
Pandev 19 - Tare 17

On the bench:
Ballotta 32
De Silvestri 29
Kolarov 3
Ledesma 24
Manfredini 68
Meghni 23
Rocchi 18

Interesting to see how that starting 11 will fare, and also that in this season for once Rossi can choose from almost the whole squad. Personally, I would have put Manfredini instead of Mutarelli as starter, Muta should keep his huge reserve of energy entirely for Wednesday!

The line-up is even worse than that:

Muslera
Zauri-Siviglia-Rozenhal-Kolarov
Mudingayi-Baronio-Mutarelli
Mauri
Vignaroli-Tare

Basically it's two starters in a Serie A match!

And, of course, Mutarelli scored! :) First half was really nothing special so far, we practically played in their half but managed to be really dangerous only in the final minutes of the first half, what with mauri hitting the post and then Mutarelli shooting the ball into their goal. Siena had three shots at goals, but only the first one was a bit dangerous. As Kaf said, Kolarov had a head crash with a Siena player (Karja?) and De Silvestri came on for him, but I don't think he will not be able to play next Wednesday.

1-1 final score. I didn't hope too much from this line-up, but to hand away the win in the final minutes is always frustrating...

40 points is still not enough to guarantee survival, I'd much rather have seen us clinch Serie A spot today.

Honestly, if I was a neutral fan I would have regretting spending such a sunny day watching this game. But as I am a Lazio fan... Second half was a wee bit like the first one, Lazio prssing was pretty effective in blocking Siena's play and our defense kept well their forwards. Tare missed a couple of chances, a cross from Zauri was inches wide and also a free kick from Mauri (or it was Baronio?) went close to the goal. But then Muslera did it again. Few minutes from time a harmless shot from a Siena player (Coppola? Loria?) completely surprised our goalkeeper... and it was 1-1. Rossi went out to the dressing room quite unsatisfied, I would say.

Sucks that we had to lose 2 points just before the final whistle. :(

Or to blunder yet again.

While actually, up to that point, he had shown some good things. But such a costly mistake pretty much negates that. As was obvious from the line-up, Rossi didn't really care a great deal about this match, but I doubt he will call upon Muslera when the result does matter. I certainly expect Ballotta to be in goal again for our Coppa match against Inter.

A reliable goalkeeper remains our number one transfer target for the summer.

Definitely. Now that Coppa Italia has become more important than Serie A for us, it's Muslera who will play in the remaining League games and Marco will be no. 1 goalkeeper in the Coppa.
Actually Muslera wasn't that bad in today's first half, although he had to do just one save from a Frick's shot. In the second, when Siena lifted the pace, he showed some uncertainties especially when he wasn't in between the posts. Then, the fatal blunder. The curious fact is that Loria's shot was hopeless and the surprised Muslera started diving late and it was a pretty awkward dive. You should have seen how much Siena players were amazed when the ball got into our goal.

Just when I thought our Serie A season was basically over and that Muslera was finally showing some stability, this happens. :( So annoying. But we were basically asking for it by resting so many players. I don't see why Dabo or Bianchi at least couldn't have played from the start as we are still not perfectly safe and they haven't played that many games this season for us or Man City. I think only only Rozenhal and Mutarelli perfromed well today, the rest were not noticeably bad apart from the Muslera howler but were not impressive either. Rozenhal should start in the Coppa game, IMO. This game was so low paced that I doubt he is tired much anyway. :)
