Well, we played much beter in the second half but still we got only a draw. One wonders what might have happened had we actually started to play in that fashion. Rocchi's movement was quite vital, if only he had scored that chance minutes before Genoa's goal...I have no idea what possessed Rossi to take out Meghni for Inzaghi, thank goodness Rubinho gifted us a goal. Zarate was very active in the second half and was our most creative player. The defence was decent, IMO, Genoa has scored a lot this season and Milito is one heck of a player. Their goal was somewhat lucky and I think we had more chances, not to mention Lichtsteiner and Kolarov attacked a lot. We really need better set piece taking, we wasted so many free kicks in good position, Genoa fouled and fouled and fouled us without any restraint whatsoever. Can't we cross to Rozenhal or Cribari some time and actually find them in the box? Siviglia is a very good at scoring headers after set pieces...he never even gets the chance to hit a header in attack these days.
I think Foggia, Rocchi, Zarate is proving to be much better than Zarate, Pandev, Rocchi, or Zarate, Foggia, Pandev mostly because Pandev is really out of form. Yes, he probably would have preferred to play closer to the box but he can't even keep the ball these days, I hope it's mostly fatigue. Plus, Zarate and Foggia can play on the wing, Pandev doesn't seem to be willing or able to do it.
The midfield again was not that convincing but I believe that if he is given the chance Meghni can improve a lot...and even in this form he is better than Mauri, he was close to scoring and also gave a great pass to Foggia who missed one on one with the keeper early in the second half.
Most importantly we need to play well in both halves of the game, it's pathetic how few goals we have scored in first halves, not to mention how few chances we tend to create. If we manage to score early, matches will become so much more winnable.
