Glasgow rangers came out of their Champions League second qualifying round, first leg, match against Zalgiris Kaunus with a comfortable 4-1 cushion, thanks to two late goals from Billy Dodds.

Rangers took the lead early on with Allan Johnston netting on after 14 minutes, although the Zaligiris were quick to reply, with Auerius Zuta equalising on 26 minutes.

In a scrappy match Zalgiris were reduced to nine men, with both Petrenko and Barasa being given their marching orders on 39 and 64 minutes respectively.

Rangers capitalised on their advantage, with Jorg Albertz restoring the home side’s lead from the penalty spot on 62 minutes and then Dodds hitting two in the dying minutes of the game.

Despite a lacklustre performance on the night, Rangers now have a decent aggregate scoreline to defend on their trip to Lithuania.
