One leage game doesn't mean anything, they're still on top of the leader board.

Agreed, Barça's defense is rubbish, thankfully our attack is out of this world :howler:

Oh well, that's you lot out against Chelsea then. Another majestic victory for the Premiership awaits.

Anyway Forlan is making a goal, after 6 assist with him alone with the keeper by Roman, at least one he has to nail.
He isn't the best, but is fine dude, he always was that way, in Independiente he was assisted the same way, tons to make goals, but he nailed important ones after being insulted throughtout the match, is like his style, is just Cachavacha.
He needs a real playmaker behind, and he works, not full efficent, but he can become a pain in the ass.

Are you serious? Most of the time, South Americans don't perform very well in the EPL. They don't seem to adjust properly to the style of play. They probably find it difficult to adjust to the environment too. There are many contributing factors.

There have been a few good players from South America, who have come to the EPL and not performed very well, but they have performed fantastically well in other highly competitive leagues.

So he continues to need 4676464 chances to score 1, and la liga defences are prone to being destroyed like that by decent players who can create 4676464 chances at will to let the likes of Forlan score a few... hmmm... not much to do with Forlan being better suited for La Liga then. :D

This is the typical thread that finishes with the stupid discussion about which league is better. Yes, Forlan has scored 8 goals in La Liga... so what? Anelka came to Madrid after being the top scorer in England and he sucked here. All this without talking about the captain of the English NT...

First of all, Forlan is playing more often than what he did in England. Second, the skills of a player can be more useful in a league than in a different one.

Now if you feel happier thiking that the EPL has better defenses just because Forlan is scoring quite often, then it's okay for me. But if you're trying to say something serious, then I think that your annalysis is poor.

The finall issue is that is Forlan is being accused of bricklayer, the British Leagues with all the passion, the attacking and everything, produce a BRITISH dribbler every 20 years, fast passes, great technic at that, and honest, attacking foootball is one thing, but almost all that rush many times hides insecurity to handle the ball, no misetry the team that plays with the ball under the feet, with more pause is full of frenchs, and spanniards, so is just a question of styles of football that once you born with a determinate style is hard to change, no worse, no better, just different...

Crespo had trouble in Chelsea and is having a good time in Serie A. There are numerous examples of players failing in one league but making it in the other. There are so many factors to consider. Forlan was at Utd. which is a high pressure club where results matter and the press is sharpening their swords for ANY MISTAKE. Utd. is followed a lot in and outside England. He was under even more pressure considering his partner was one of the best finishers in the game -> Seabiscuit! I meant RVN. In Spain he is playing for Villareal which is not Real or Barcelona. Totally different environment and a lot less pressure. A simple comparison never does it. So many things to consider!

i wouldn't say Crespo had trouble in the EPL. 11 goals in 19 games is pretty good.

That is correct Dmitry. He is loaned out by Chelsea as he is considered excess baggage by Chelsea although his scoring rate was healthy. The word 'Trouble' was used due to his Pariah status in the EPL. ;) He was not properly settled there.

Koeman4, haroon and other sensible posters: now apply the same logic whenever a serie a fanbwoy/la liga fanbwoy boast about their supreme defences and the crappiness of EPL defenders on here (which is regularly). Apply the same logic when fanbwoys start yapping about how player X in their league would destroy premier league defences since Serie A or La Liga is doing so supreme in their own super league (an issue often raised by Serie A and La Liga fans, but not dealt with like it has been in this thread by, ironically enough, Serie A and La Liga fans.). Different players, different leagues, each league has their own way of playing (the difference in style makes it hard to take out components of the game, make straight comparisons and draw an overall conclusion determinign which is better in what) which players of other leagues will have problems to adapt to, each league has their own strengths and weaknesses which makes it hard to define who is definitely better. Thxwinbye.
