IMO there are some musts to nominate which are of course Cerny, Lexa, Stranzl (he' finally back :strong: ), M. Weissenberger and Manninger.
About the others:
Marcus Pürk could be interesting again if he can hold his place in or at least near the starting 11 of 1860 (I think that we mainly need players who are regulars at their teams or as mentioned are somewhere near the regular team. This of course is also valid for some other players in the list)
players like Macho, Schopp or Leitner (does anybody have an idea how's he doing at Xanthi)
Pogatetz is a great talent, the biggest defensive talent together with Stranzl, but as he's only a starter for the Leverkusen Amateure and I guess it would be a bit too early for him to receive a call-up.
I have to admit that I'm not a very big fan of Didi Kühbauer as he is a player that usually underperforms when playing for the NT (like Vastic)
Winklhofer, sorry to say this, is purest crap. Did anybody watch the 2nd Bundeliga on DSF? I did so this weekend and Winklhofer produced an hilarious mistake which to led to the goal of the opponents team. Please no more Winklhofer for the NT
Wimmer on the other hand is a regular for Frankfurt and he had a good (very good) game last weekend, where he gave 2 assists and produced a lot of pressure on the right side. I guess he could be very interesting as a right back if Hansi decides to play a 4-4-2.
Thommy the highlander could as well be part of the new NT but I think that he might be a bit too old if we really think about a new beginning and total restructuring of the team.
Plassnegger, Hasenhüttl, Zechner, Berchthold and Mandreko are not NT material (of course it is just my opinion)
Gager is too old and I have no idea how's Landerl doing.
about Orman, well in the NÖ-Kronenzeitung they usually write quite a lot about him and as far as I've heard he wants to play for the Nigerian NT as his wife comes from Nigeria and I guess that our African friends wanted to play him in the Africa cup but an injury prevented him from taking part. But as he's doing quite well for Hibs he could definately become an option for us (I think he could be interesting for the right-back position as well if he wants to play for Austria of course)
So whom would you choose for our left midfield side? IMO Kirchler is too old (as well as Vastic btw), Ibertsberger could be more useful as a left back and Kitzbichler is basically a right sided player.
Stranzl and Lexa are the ones I have my biggest hopes on.
Btw, anybody into the know what this Markus Katzer chappie is all about ? Somebopdy in one of the FAK forums mentioned him as a Hansee invention and therefor a hot NT prospect.
So I looked up Hansse's voting for "Player of the league 2001". And believe it or not, Hansee had Katzer as number 3 !!!! (remember, this was PLAYER OF THE LEAGUE voting, so it dealt with Vastic and the likes, not with any prospects)
Katzer is a young defender from Admira Mödling, I'd call him a Krankl-invention, and he's already a regular for the U-21 team. Definately a talent but it would be much to early for him to play for the senior team.
Guess he'll be a regular for A/W Mödling too when the season starts again.
