Juventus edge closer to Serie A title

Italian football

Juventus has proved that it is the form team in Italy after today's round of matches saw it move to within one point of the Serie A lead with two matches remaining.
Juventus took advantage of Inter and Roma both drawing their respective matches by defeating Piacenza 1-0, the goal coming thanks to Pavel Nedved with a classic finish in the 85th minute.

Inter Milan looked destined for victory and an almost unbeatable lead in the title race as it lead Chievo 2-1 with less than five minutes remaining.

However a late Chievo equaliser courtesy of Cossato gave Chievo a valuable point and cost Inter two points.

In Milan, Roma never looked like penetrating the AC Milan defence as the two sides battled out a 0-0 result.

The result drops Roma from second to third, two points adrift of Inter Milan and one point behind Juventus.

Next week Roma is at home to the dangerous Chievo, Inter is at home to Piacenza whilst Juventus host Brescia.

And in the final round of matches Inter are away to Lazio, Roma away to Torino and Juventus travel to Udinese.

What a Sunday.

Che barzaletta, l'Inter. They're 1-1-1 in their last 3 scoring 5 and giving up 5. What the hec happened to their defense when they've needed it most? Inter has had so many opportunities to close it out. Remember back on matchdays 20, 21, 22? Venezia-Inter 1-1, Inter-Torino 0-0, Bologna-Inter 2-0. YOU CAN'T BE DROPPING POINTS TO THOSE TEAMS AND EXPECT TO WIN THE SCUDETTO.

Roma's another joke. How many opportunities did they have yesterday to go up a goal and failed? Roma's had so many opportunities and they've just blown it on the road this season.

Juve's been doing what they have to do (AS OF LATE): winning games. They're not pretty. As a matter of fact, they haven't been impressing anyone. But they're the only team that's been winning. Yesterday their defense put the clamps on Hubner and Nedved came through again.

With Inter facing Piacenza and a red hot Lazio in Rome on the last day and Juve's got Brescia at home and they're at Udine on the last day, my $$$ on Juve.

What a joke this campionato has become.

BTW... DeSantis has to be the worst ref in Serie A. How the hec could he not call the foul on Ronaldo? What's worse, he claims Ronnie pushed the defender.
