Juve target Champions’ League Wednesday 15 May, 2002
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Juventus director Antonio Giraudo has revealed that the club’s number one objective for the new season will be the Champions’ League.
The Bianconeri official has admitted that he will watch tonight’s Glasgow Final with regret after Juventus trounced finalists Bayer Leverkusen earlier this season.
"I want the Champions’ League next year," he said. "We have a massive regret for what happened to us this term in the competition.
"We beat Leverkusen 4-0 and it just shows how certain incidents can decide the destiny of a competition."
The Bianconeri fell at the second group phase of the tournament when they and Arsenal were eliminated by the Germans and Deportivo La Coruna.
Coupled with Roma’s exit at the same stage, it was the second consecutive year that no Italian clubs had made it into the last eight of Europe’s premier tournament.
Nevertheless, with the Scudetto win, Giraudo was well satisfied with the campaign that has just ended.
"When you win the title it is always a fantastic year," he added. "But it could get even better because we have four youth teams who have all reached finals in different events."

Well therefore we need a strong squad, strong midfield especially and a large squad.
But now that we won the scudetto, I think the club will focus more on the CL than on the scudetto.
