Agnelli, never one to mince his words, was critical of Inter's lack of unity and team play.

"Why did Inter lose? Because they are not a team, they have not worked well together.

"All the results which got them to the top of the table for so long were only because of moments of brilliance from individuals like Recoba, Vieri or Ronaldo," Agnelli said, making it clear that this was the perfect example of a team of champions rather than a champion team.

"And without a team playing together you don't win the title."
