Borussia Monchengladbach are ready to try and lure out-of-favour Arsenal star Jens Lehmann back to the club.
The Germany international has been dropped by Arsene Wenger and is now playing second fiddle to Spaniard Manuel Almunia.
The Gunners have turned around their shaky form in recent weeks and it appears that Lehmann could be set for an extended spell on the bench.
As a result his future with the North Londoners is in some doubt, especially as the 35-year-old is desperate for first-team football to try and claim Germany's number one shirt from rival Oliver Kahn - with the 2006 World Cup finals in his homeland on the horizon.
His former club are now pondering the possibility of bringing him back to the Bundesliga, and Monchengladbach boss Dick Advocaat has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his squad.
Borussia director of football Christian Hochstatter admits the club could well submit an offer during the transfer window.
"Normally, such a transfer would be difficult to achieve, but if Jens sits on the bench for much longer, then who knows what happens?" he stated.
"When somebody like Lehmann becomes available then you've certainly got to consider it."

Psst ... skysports, Lehmann played for Borussia Dortmund, not Borussia Monchengladbach. Tarts.
