Mascherano wants Juve?
Juve, chance per Mascherano: nessuna firma col Corinthians
Sab 22 Gen, 4:38 PM

Basically it says that he didn't sign with Corinthians and that he wants to play for Juve.

His agents will meet with Moggi today or early this week.

The deal could happen for this season or in the summer.

He would cost 13-20m €.

He has an Italian passport.

i think that moggi is really stupid, he shouldnt buy a defensive midfielder when the biggest
need for juve is a playmaker like rosicky or van der vaart..

I seen him play once he was okay in the midfield but I barely saw im in the attack. He is only 20 and a very good player for his club and country, he would be a very good signing for Juve, but we can get Christian Obodo or Mourad Meghni for cheaper and they are probably better going forward.

Mascherano is propably the most talented DM around, and considering that Capello will probably not change his game pattern, it would surely strenghten us (and looking at the future he's really kind of a "sure thing signing".
It is however not an ideal signing for me either, as I fully agree with 10Rosicky (and pretty much everyone else on this forum I think) that a creative central midfielder would be a bigger upgrade for us.

watching mascherano play for his country in last year's copa america and the olympics i was very impressed with him...playing macherano alongside emerson in the midfield would allow emerson to attack more than he currently does...last year with roma emerson was in the attack alot more than he currently is...if he does come to juve it would be a very smart buy

I think its important to realise that Capello will not play a creative player like Rosicky in the 4-4-2 system. I think he would have to change formation to use him better..ie. having two DM.

Many of us here want the likes of Riquelme, who i agree would be a brilliant signing, but its pointless if Capello is going to stick to his current formation. And realistically thinking about it, we do have Olivera who is very capable of being a star.

If Mascherano joins, it is an upgrade on Blasi and Appiah. Maybe Capello wants to really get the defence and defensive midfield fixed before being more offensive, hence, playing with a playmaker in the hole behind the forwards.

Until Moggi buys a good attacking right back, i dont think Capello can really change and buy the likes of Riquelme and utilise his qualities to the best of his abilities.

We must not forget that the squad has creative players but dont get a chance to really play their natural game.

Besides, if he hasn't joined Argentinian NT yet, he may join Azzurri in future:D
He did it in Sub-23....so, i think he couldn´t play for Italy NT...

Masherano is probably the best talent in the market today...with Maxi Lopez and Carlos Tevez are the most brilliants young argentines...and he plays DM, perfect for Capello...so, he will be a great adquisition.....and now that Real sign Gravensen, they wont push for Javier....

About Riquelme....be realistic people...4 years ago Riquelme was the best talent in argentina, when he played with Boca and was the captain and super hero of this team...then Barsa signed him, he didnt fill the role, was loaned out to Villareal, and now, that he is becoming a real start in Europe, do you think Barsa will sell him? or at least cheap? no way dude :nono: .....probably he is worth 20-25 millions..and i prefer Mascherano every day of the week, he is cheaper, younger and talented...You won´t see Capello playing with a creative midfielder in the center, at least if we wont sign Totti (and i dont want it  )...

I also do not really think that Riquelme would fit into Serie A, let alone Juventus.

I just watched Boca vs. River and Mascherano was solid in midfield, making good tackles and constructive passes. He did not do much offensively in the match, as he seems to give the ball to the playmakers of River, like Sabresas, for them do to all the attacking. Javier was never out of position though, and nothing got by him in midfield. Really in the first half he shut down Boca completely in midfield. He looks like a good buy.

IMO.... Riquelme was BORN for serieA. Come on, the lower pace... the priority on "the" match deciding moment... he would be PERFECT in Italy.

But that aside, we wouldn't be able to utilize him unless Capello gets the people to play 3-4-1-2 like at Roma, because otherwise he wouldn't, and unless Roman gets it his way, he won't be successfull as it was clear from his Barca time. Sidenote: I don't think Riquelme will be that expensive as Barca can't use him as a regular and if you don't there's no point in retaining him. Everyone else knows that, and Riquelme has a big salary package to go along with the tainted rep he has for NOT succeding at Barca in the first place..

Yes, he has no room in Barcelona with Deco and Ronaldinho playing so well....but he is doing great at Villareal (last game against the "Italian" Valencia team he scored a hat trick  )...so, in this moment, he is very expensive for any team....i dont know for how much Barsa signed him, but probably they want a benefit for their investment...

Mascherano fit more in Juve...but now there is a rumour for D'Agostino, who seems cheaper that Javier and equal talented.....and Capello know him, so ;) ....it seems that D'Agostino signed to "Juventus B" Messina, so, if Moggi and Capello wants him, it´s to easy to bring him to Juventus A...

...Roma controls D'Agostino still, Buff, and let's not try and make D'Ago something he is not. Talented, yes. Very talented even. But Mascherano is already one of the best in the world in his position. Gaetano has proven nothing yet.

My point about Riquelme btw. was, that he won't be that expensive since Barca cannot offer him a spot... or I consider the chances of that to be dim at least (imagine Ronaldinoho, Riquelme, Deco and Xavi in the same midfield... nah!).
Everyone else knows that, and this will keep the prices down.
Barca will not want to keep paying Riquelme's wages if they're not going to play him.

yes, but if everybody wants him this will logically rise back his price. And maybe Barcelona will prefer exchanging him for player in more needed position. What can we offfer them??
