hmmm interesting...i guess its inevitable that Jardel will leave us this summer, I was suprised that he didn't move last summer.
It's funny that in CM4 Jardel signed for Roma for £18 million!!! But when we do sell him I expect a quality replacement...this Algerian guy I hyave to admit I have not heard of before, but I hope PDC won't see him as a replacement because I doubt he would manage even 20 goals a season at FCP.
Anyway, as long as Jardel doesn't go to a useless Greek team at the last minute.

Josep Maria Minguella, Mario Jardel's Spanish agent, confirmed yesterday that this is Jardel's last season in Porto and Portugal. Jardel appears to be ready to jump to the greener pastures of the Serie A. The club in question is AS Roma. Roma who have not won the Serie A title since the early 80's believe that Jardel could be the final piece of the puzzle to lead them back to the top. Jardel has been linked with a move to Rome for sometime now but it was rumored that it would be Lazio Roma not AS Roma that were in the running to sign the world's greatest goal scorer. Miguella confirmed the Roman interest but also mentioned that other clubs have been inquiring about the Brazilian's services. Clubs from England and Spain were also supposed to be interested. When asked about the rescission clause in Jardel's contract Minguella chuckled and said;
"That will not be a problem"
Jardel's rescission clause is supposed to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 16.5 million dollars. The Italian sports paper "Gazetto dello Sport" reported that Roma have supposedly already made an offer for Jardel. However Roma coach Capello is rumored to prefer making a chase for the signatures of Morientes (Real Madrid) or Batistuta (Fiorentina).
If Jardel does end up leaving to Serie A, FC Porto are rumored to be interested in Algerian international Rafik Saifi. Saifi plays in Division 1 France for Troyes and won the Algerian player of the year for 1999. This would be the 2nd Algerian player to wear the blue and white. The first, as all Portista's remember, was the great Rabah Madjer.

your right Porto always goes out and gets Silva as a replacement. They also got marco aurelio in my game. I sold Jardel to Real Madrid for 27 million.

I guess it will have to be. I just wonder how well he will play outside Porto. What has he done in his selecção?

I just hope PDC's eagle eyes (don't be offended hehe) get another extraordinary good player like Jardel, but that's hard...

On a serious note, how are you gonna replace him, 37 goals this year. He's been so important to porto this year.

Nope Jardel is irreplaceable - you only get players like that at this club once every 20 years

I don't think that we could get 1 guy to replace jardel. Next season we will have a scorer by committee system. I think that we have enough talent on our squad to score goals. Miki is the one I am banking on, but DOmingos has been known to pop them in their (he scored 25 a few years ago...remember? :) ) and I know that Capucho knows how to score...and don't forget about a potential return of the Slovene star....Zahovic.

Unfortunately Porto will have to let him go.
He has played 2-3 great seasons with us and is on his way to his 2nd golden boot with 39 league goals and 10 Champion's League Goals.
Anyway... Roma are so interested in him they are willing to pay 3.5 million contos(portuguese money), approximately 28 million dollars Canadian.
That's how good he is!!!!
