Oh no..................

Sao Taffarel,

Is it a Felipao's april fools joke, or is he really on a campaign to irritate every brazilian across teh globe?

If he calles Jardel and leaves Romario out he should go straight to the Carandiru!
"............Carandiru!"

What is the above?! Jardel could be a home town decision (pick him, get local press off back and then forget him), or, no!, it could be for real. We will see. Too be fair I have not seen a lot of him lately but he is the kind of immobile forward I do not like.
carandiru = jail in Sao Paulo, the biggest of Latin America!

It's sick.... if he calls jardel it will proove that he is more worried with the portuguese press that have nothing to do with BRazil, than with the 160 million of Brazilian that DEMAND Romario in the NT! This guy is a imbecile...... no wonder he admires Pinochet!
Thanks for the explanation. If Romario does not go he will be in jail anyway effectively!
what a coincidence...I was talking with Patrick with private messages, that if Felipão doesn't select Romário it will be a crime against football! especially when he selects a player as Jardel over him! Well, anyway..I'll be first in the line to execute Felipão after the World Cup failure!:fero:
Anyway,
Lopes has jsut stated that ROmario did not do any indiscipliney act on the game against uruguay, and that is not a reason for not calling him.

I wonder if Lopes will use his power to select Romario....cause really, what is Lopes's function in CBF? Isn't he above Felipao?? Can't he make an intervention??
Let me go on record and say that I would love to see Jardel play for Brazil. Again guys it's just a friendly and just about every striker has had a chance to prove himself. Why not Jardel? As I recall, a lot of the arguments in favor of Romario have been that he scores a lot for Vasco, well so does Jardel (for Sporting).

I say we give him a chance. I know this will irritate a lot of you in this forum but can he be that bad.
The problem is that Jardel is totally useless as far as Brazil goes. Jardel is a monster goal scorer provided he gets a lot of aerial support. He is a brilliant header, but is maybe the most pathetic dribbler in the world. Brazil doesn't play the crossing game, so Jardel is useless for Brazil. He scores a bunch of goals for Sporting , but that is because Sporting can play a winger game with lots of crosses to Jardel's head.

I think Jardel is a brilliant finisher, but he is not the kind of finisher Brazil needs. Romario is, as he plays with his feet and can make something out of nothing with the dribble. Jardel is pititful in that department. Other than playing old favoritives, calling Jardel for the selecao makes no sense at all.

You do have a good point there Billi.
So Romario did not ^&** the air stewardess in Montevideo! We will find out in 2 or 3 hours about Jardel. Might as well give him a chance - he has Luizao after all! Re Antonio Lopes, I am not sure Felipao and him see eye to eye (or is it just paper-talk?)
Jardel is a goal scoring machine like Dae said but especially for a team like Brazil he would just be extremelly useless. Mario Jardel is one of those players who just will never be a national team player and just a club player with success I guess. It's the sad truth to some of his fans I guess.

When is the game vs Portugal? It's a good friendly to test the players that we are suppose to call-up for the 23-man squad but once again I expect to be hurt by another tragedy of ROmario not being called up.

May the 2nd is the day Scolari is suppose to send his list of players who will be going to the Copa del mundo and that makes it even tougher for the great Romario. :depress:

is Portugal the last friendly before he calls up the team?
The players who are called up for the Catalunya match will be the ones who are in the squad for the World Cup...
They will fly right a way from Barcelona to Asia, so you can assume that the players who will play Catalunya will be the 23...

BTW I just saw Romário scoring his 11th goal in 11 matches...what more can he do? :irritate:
Rafael,
Do you have any idea if the Portugal friendly is the last one before Scolari names the 23-man squad? Thanks.
you should all be happy...Jardel has not been called for the friendly vs Portugal.

As far as the foreign players go, I think the ones called for this game are the ones that are Asia bound.
I would pick Zr Roberto instead of Junor. He can play at left back, left midfield and as a freer volante. A shame.
I'm quite relieved we do not have to put up with the presence of that idiot called Jardel! I hate that guy so much that when he tripped in the Copa America without touching the ball i started laughing at that kunt!;) :D :D :D

Yes, this is the last game before the call up, the squad is almost closed, only 2 places left, and those places are more of strategy of Felipao than anything else: Ex: Will he take 4 or 5 defenders.....he will decide in this game against Portugal.

Sao Taffarel,
Felipe would be better to take than Ze Roberto. He plays in all the postions of Ze Roberto and when things are tied up he has more ability and a better vision than Ze Roberto (not that i'm saying Ze Roberto is crap, which he is not)!;)

ALso,
Luizao is twice the player Jardel will ever be! Remember that Felipao SAVED Jardel's career in Gremio, when he got kicked out of Vasco.....and now he closes the door on him favouring Luizao! I doubt any other manager in Brazil would call Jardel, unless it would be Felipao! (ok Luxa called him some times, but not for major events)
See less See more
Felipe is an interesting one. I remember the great goal in the World Club Champ. he scored. He seemed/seems to have everything but he is nowhere near Os 23. What happened?
He was too undisciplined.
Only now it seems he is starting to be come a "normal" person, plus he is too talented to play in a team of Felipao! ;) :(

I know what you mean. When I watch him with Sporting (my team) I can't help but laugh at his pathetic attempts to dribble more than a step (Oh, the other weekend I saw him make some nice little move with ball and I almost sh*t my pants. I'd never seen him make a move before. :D). He looks like my grandmother running with the ball. I laugh everytime or groan, depending on the situation. :D

But, the motherf*cker is so good with his head that he scores buckets of goals for Sporting. Thank god our wingers can cross the ball or the big retard would be useful for SCP, too. :D
