Chris Sutton
Middlesbrough boss Bryan Robson are ready to pay up to £6m for Chelsea's 27-tear-old out-of-favour striker Chris Sutton. Robson is confident he can re-ignite Sutton's career, while the player himself is determined to silence the 'waste of money' taunts which have haunted him since his arrival in London.

Joao Pinto
Chelsea are on the brink of signing Portugal striker Joao Pinto. Chelsea have agreed terms with Pinto, who scored against England on Monday night and is a free agent after being controversially sacked by Benfica last week. Chelsea hope to announce the 28-year-old's capture next week after Portugal's first-round fixtures are complete.

Gianfranco Zola
Gianfranco Zola could be on the move after Turkish side Fenerbahce yesterday claimed to have signed him. Zola has been linked to a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Fenerbahce and the Italian's former club Napoli the most likely destinations. But Fenerbahce officials have announced that Zola had agreed to move to Turkey and is hopeful of finalising a deal with Chelsea this week.
