Portsmouth at Anfield in Round Five!

Avoided the most dangerous teams, i.e. the top three, and we've gone in from 9-1 to 5-1 to be the winners after a favourable draw and great Newcastle result. The best of the rest sees Arsenal vs. Chelski and a potential Old Trafford Manc Derby if City can beat Spurs.

We should be in the Quarter-Final and then we'll have an exact copy of the game when we play them again at Anfield on the 21st.

Looking forward to it already...:)

Fifth-round draw

Man Utd v Man City/Tottenham

Tranmere v Swansea

Telford/Millwall v Burnley

Sunderland v Birmingham

Sheff Utd v Coventry/Colchester

Arsenal v Chelsea

Liverpool v Portsmouth

Everton/Fulham v West Ham

Ties to be played weekend of 14/15 February

Well we all know what happened last time we played Portsmouth. It's a pretty good draw with that aside though.
They're absymal away from home. It's always good to see two of the better teams paired up and one of Arsenal and Chelsea will definitely be out.

lets not jump the gun, we always do poorly when we assume we'l win. home is a good advantage, but we should never underestimate anyteams. just go out there and play them off the park from the first half. looking good :D

Gentlemen, let me remind you that anything can happen in the FA Cup, or even the EPL. Molineux 2 weeks ago, anyone?

The luck of the draw again... Facing the same side in a short span of time... It must be the curse of the draw.

Just look at Arsenal v Boro, though not a great clash by any remarkable standards. 4 times (1 x FA Cup, 2 x League Cup, 1 x League) in no more than 4 wks apart. Then there is Milan v Roma (1 x League, 2 x Coppa) this season. Now we are playing Portsmouth twice in what... two weeks? :howler:

Then again, the draw is also good in a way. The reward for beating Newcastle is understandably reasonable... Arsenal v Chelsea will eliminate one potential challenger for us and that will leave us closer to the FA Cup and Europe. There are not many left, so we could see ourselves facing Arsenal/Chelsea or Manc very soon.

But to look into the glazing crystal for beyond, watch for our League opponents nearer FA Cup weekends.

paw;)
