Do you believe that this is RM's dark age ??

how would you assess the current squad and what should be done in your opinion

Lots of just good to very good players, more than a couple of amargos and bricklayers..still CL winners...what are the couple of things missing nowdays and hardly the solution is playing FM like most huge clubs are playing...

A couple of big cracks and them in form and more important: stability, players knowing that were subs and players knowing that weren't, a coach to handle in such style, an idea/style of football, a management helping this to happen...is not that hard to be more competitive even with not the most appealing squad avaiable.

Well I think if Florentino Perez does not come back Real Madrid may be in for a couple of dark years, The clubs recent poor European record stands out, The best players in the world will not want to come to Real if they have no realistic chance of winning the CL, they will go to Manchester United, Barcelona, Liverpool etc. But if Florentino comes back he has the ability to get the best names in to the club and I think that is key for Real at the moment, The curent squad has rather too much 'Average' or 'Prospects' and because of this the performance in key European games by these players isnt to the standard of others.

I do think that before Real just go out in summer and say 'we want Ronaldo' etc. they need to look closer to home and make wholesale changes, even if that means getting rid of some of the big names like Cannavaro's, Raul's etc.

The only reason they won those 2 titles is because Barcelona was in deep shit. Add to that the decline of Sevilla and Valencia.

The 2 league titles are good but RM have several problems. If not, you can´t explain 5 different presidents in 4 years.

They haven´t qualified for CL quarter finals in the last 5 years. For Real Madrid that´s a BIG PROBLEM.

No,

It is Liverpool golden age....
They are giving Manchester United a lesson at Old Trafford right now... 1-3 so far...

Don't be ashamed of the CL loss; Liverpool is clearly on par with Barcelona...If not better...

RM might not be as powerful as before but they remain a great team that could beat anyone on their day.

It is also clear that some teams stepped up since the "Decima" (Liverpool, Barcelona, Villareal, Lyon)

Dark age with two consecutive La Liga titles? I wonder what we're going to do in our golden age.

The problem is the team somehow doesn't show up in CL games. I mean it's not like this team had any troubles against Barcelona during the past three years.

Typical madrid response. Count past trophies whenever someone mentions their current form. Not to mention they haven't reached the QF of UCL for ages now

Maybe in la liga they've been doing great but they've been woeful in the UCL for quite some time.

They need a manager that lasts more than a season which will give the team stability, why the hell they sacked Cappello and Schuster after they guided the team to the title is mystifying??
