Have we now even the slighest idea what rock is? Rock stars of the past are pop stars of the future, so what can be really told of present rock that defines it as a pop of the future?

Lately I define rock as a thing of the past. Guittars are being to loud or too agressive to be whenever being excepted into a pop tradition. So we are in a dead end. Stop for rock. Mettalica as the last of the fossils...

I don't think rock is dead. Metallica the last rock band? Don't think so.

Rock is no longer "the mainstream" as it used to be, and rock no longer defines pop music like before (now we have the synthetic pop, r&b/hiphop, & dance-house to do that), and perhaps it's not as a world-wide phenomenon as it once was...but rock is not dead.

Perhaps it's better rock no longer defines pop music...'cause pop usually isn't anything too great.
