4 teams have expressed interest in this summers intertoto cup. They are Belenenses, Uniao Leiria, Vitoria Guimaraes, Santa Clara and either Benfica or Porto depending on which qualifies for the UEFA in 3rd place. I'm surprised Maritimo aren't interested either.

Dont be surprised if Maritimo sell a few players in the summer . The Uefa Cup can be an expensive hobby for a small club , especailly if they get knocked out early. Perhaps if they keep most of there payers they can concentrate on challenging for the top 4.

If you can hold on to players like Sabry, Kenedy and Bruno then you have every chance with some strengthening, possibly a striker.

Belenenses is in good conditions to get win the mini Intertoto championship. Samardzic (remember him on Feyenoord?) is on trial in Marítimo - I must confess it caught me totally surprised a player with some name in Europe ON TRIAL in Portugal.

Maybe he has had problems & using Portugal as a stepping stone in his path to future glory

I think it is important to ge more Portuguese sides in Europe. That may intice some players to stay longer instead of just accepting the first offer outta there.
