Despite Marcello Salas' refusal to go to Parma, the team's president Callisto Tanzi, will almost certainly use his business trip in South America to contact the Chilean player and try to convince him to be Hernan Crespo's replacement.
In order to prevent this from happening, Inter Milan's President Massimo Moratti, who in the last few days seemed uncertain about a deal with the player (a technique to lower the price ?) has now made an offer to him through his manger in order to stop Tanzi's move.
Salas had in any case said thet he prefers Inter Milan to Parma, but the offer of a three year contract for a total salary of 11 million dollars, isn't considered big
enough by his manager, given that the Chilean already earns 6 million dollars a year and would want a bigger raise.
