Just wondering if anyone got Football Manager 09 and how do you guys do with INTER. I just finished half season with 15 wins 3 draw and 1 lost. Roma and Udinese did exceptionally just 2 points behind,I play like Mourinho with 4-3-3 in a compact style, in CL last 16 to face Shalke and just got knocked out of Coppa by Napoli...

I'm at home, sick today so I thought I would give it another try with Inter.

I started the season without any changes, I was thinking about signing Witsel or Hazard, but they wanted too much for the Belgian talents :pp

Currently it's 10/01/09 and I'm owning the serie A and qualified for the second round of the CL. Playing the Mourinho 4-3-3 with Mancini and Quaresma owning their flanks. When this doesn't break opposition I take a midfielder out, introduce Adriano next to Zlatan and move LB and RB up a position to keep the balance in midfield. I made it 0-4 against Reggina after introducing this system in the 75th minute when it was still 0-0.

Serie A:

Inter
Played 18
Won 16
Draw 1 (Milan - away) > despite total domination
Lost 1 (Napoli - home) > had 14 shots on target, they had 1.
Goals scored 39
Goals against 5
Points 49

2nd AS Roma with 38 points
3th Juventus with 36 points
Milan at 4th with 32 points

With the serie A as good as won, I wanted something fun so I mixed myself at the winter transfer market. Sold Maxwell which I first used as a sub, but turned into a regular as both Chivu as JZ were injured on the left back. Chelsea wanted to give 30 millions so that was quite good for a sub leftback while I still have Chivu, JZ and Cordoba who can play there. Now I was there with 75 millions euros for transfers, so I bought Robinho to replace Mancini on the left.

Quaresma already was my best player and Robinho was completely dominating the pitch for Man City. Those two together will be fireworks for sure.

Just received a 30 million offer for Stankovic. I'm selling him and adding 9 millions to buy Mascherano to fill up his boots.

Nice.

I've recently started an Inter game in FM08 (Football Manager isn't sold in stores here so I'd have to order the new version from abroad).

Won the double two years in a row, oddly enough crashed out of the Coppa Italia twice in a row too :pp

Last season I had Aguero and Zlatan, Matias Fernandez, and Diego as my main attacking force. And this season I just added Silva

First friendly was against Zarazoga, beat them 6-1 with Silva opening the scoring and Aguero netting 5:eek:

Gonna be a good season I think...

Oh to end my previous story...

I won the Serie A with 13 points more than Roma with still 4 games to go. I destroyed Atletico Madrid in the 1/8 0-5 and 1-1. Next drew Liverpool 1-1 away from home, because Cordoba got red carded. Won 4-0 at home though.

Crashed out in the semis against Chelsea due a 90+3 minute goal in the return leg making it 1-1 after I lost 2-1 in Chelsea.

After this, I resigned Mancini-style :pp

Just started a new season (I don't like 2nd and 3th seasons with big clubs like Inter).

This time, I'm the coach of the Belgian national team. Really, it's swarming of talent with Fellaini, Witsel, Dufour, Kompany, Van den Borre, Gillet, Mirallas, Dembele...

Won all matches so far of the WC Qualification, just completely dominated Spain and won 2-0.

In 4 months Belgium has gone from 55th place on the world ranking to 35th.

inter's too easy in 09.. you have a lot of good youths :p

i dont play milan either..

im currently playing as wolves and also fiorentina (but im trying to keep the team as italian as possible)

strikers are really frustrating in this game, especially in lower leagues. unbelieveably inconsistent..

Yea Inter is too easy..

I would advise to play with Udinese, thats one of the most fun teams to play with imo, Fiore too but I also think they are kinda easy..

Had a season with Napoli aswell, also great fun.

I don't play FM much, but I tried out Chateauroux in FM 2005 and won promotion right at the death. :proud: I used the economical transfer policy of Inter in recent years to get experienced players to lead the team. One name in particular: Laurent Peyrelade, born in 1970. :proud: LEGEND! Just like me. :proud:

As for Inter, I played the f**k out of CM 2000/2001 for several seasons. Generally played a 3-4-1-2 with Pirlo as the playmaker (he's amazing in that position) and Recoba as striker (also bloody amazing). I also bought Samuel right at the start, Veron who was very good, Ibrahimovic :proud: and Cambiasso :proud: who I was a fan of even back then :star:. Who'd know that all these guys would come to Inter eventually? :proud: Oh, I bought Gramps too, but he wasn't as great for us...art imitating life? :D Bought several other players, and which I might mention at some point if it's relevant.

Eventually, the game started generating players as our boys had to retire. One name in particular, Iban Marquez, a Spanish FC/AM I bought from Mallorca began smashing all sorts of records. He was absolutely amazing and scored about 3 goals a match, if I remember correctly. Insane!

Haven't played much of the game/series since then, but I'll give it a shot again at some point.

Just started the season after beating Fiorentina 1-0 in the Italian SuperCoppa (Frey always puts on a clinic against me and won the MoM award).

First league game was vs Cagliari - won 8-0! Silva got a brace, as did Aguero and Matias Fernandez. Zlatan and Fazio added a goal a piece.

Gonna be a good season...

I've noticed it's much harder in FM09 to buy yourself a new team and expect them to play well together from the first moment.

Last couple of FM-versions, it was kind of easy to take control of let's say Southport in the English Square Division North or how is it called :pp In 8 years you got them playing in the Premier League by just having a good transfer policy.

In FM09 I have bought a whole new team with Southport, real quality, but they just aren't a team unit (even my assistent manager is saying it) and I'm like 16th in the league. I'm sure that in the next season I'm all alone at the top.

Kind of sucks to lose time with this though :pp

Haha, this game is so great...

Couldn't resist to take control of Man City...

I now have the following attacking options:

Robinho
Huntelaar
Lavezezzi
Arshavin
Riquelme
Elano
Jo
...

Bought Veloso / Moutinho for midfield

Ow yeah, and I'm negotiating with Inter about Balotelli

I'd buy Zhirkov or Marcelo on leftback instead of buying Lavezzi, and maybe Drijo Srna if you've got enough at RB, and put Dunn and Micah Ricahrds at CBs
