The club has announced that 'Iñigol' (currently recovering from a serious injury) has rejected all the renewal offers and he won't continue. He finishes contract this summer. It's still not known where will he play but all the rumors say he will dress in red & white partnering Llorente in Athletic's attack next season. He will probably say it on his goodbye press conference on Wednesday.

The next to follow could be Xabi Castillo, who is rumoured with Osasuna and Celtic.

Sad news for Sociedad, if they don't get promotion this season and more big players leave it will get even harder for them to go back up.

Still, their loss could be our gain and I think it would take the pressure off Llorente a bit having someone else in our side who can score goals.

I doubt Fernando would want to go there

I'd like to see Iñigol at Athletic although it's a very bitter moment for Erreala fans and I guess they will never forgive him...but his decision is absolutely logical considering his age and qualities...

You would hope a player would show a bit more loyalty to a club who has had him injured for the past six months but that's how football is now.

Also, it's a little worryingly to see the likes of Llorente, Javimar linked with other clubs but I guess it shows how well they've been doing for us this season.

In the press conference today he hasn't said in which team he will play next season, although he has admitted contacts with Athletic. According to the media he already has a 4 years contract signed but will wait until the end of the season to make it official.

It's sad that Erreala's best players leave with the team in such a difficult situation (sportive and financially), it really is, even more being Iñigo a home player, promotion keeps on getting more difficult.

In Athletic Iñigo will play Primera football and UEFA, won't worry about not receiving his salary at the end of the month and has been offered a contract not based on his recovery.

This probable signing doesn't make me the happiest guy in the world, he doesn't seem like the hardcore Athletizale player I want for Athletic, but I won't deny we need a player of his characteristics, and he will be a great addition, specially playing 3 competitions. I just hope he demonstrates the same proffesionality as others who have made the same trip in the last years, Gabilondo or Alkiza for example.
