HUNTING DOWN KAKA'!
2/26/2008 1:50:00 PM
Parma-Milan, three fouls in the first twenty minutes. Milan-Palermo, three fouls in the first twenty nine. Carrozzieri, after Bovo, the Kaka method is having a following. But the most safeguarded are his opponents.

MILAN – The initial "score" of the last two league games on Ricardo Kaka? Here you go. Parma-Milan, first half: in the 7th minute a foul by Morrone from behind, in the 17th minute a foul by Dessena on the edge of the penalty area, in the 20th minute a foul by Morrone. These last in particular is the model of the Kaka-method. The “targeted” player did a bad slide tackle on the player’s foot, risking everything: leg, or ankle, it doesn’t matter, on him you have to risk.

It’s not over. Milan-Palermo, first half: after 1 minute and 43 seconds a bad foul by Guana, from behind, exactly on the knee which is hurting Kaka. In the 22nd minute a foul by Migliaccio in midfield, not even whistled by the referee. In the 29th minute a foul by Bresciano, from behind, on Kaka who was launched towards the penalty area, with Ricky, who full of knocks and pain, has a reaction towards the referee.

Amongst these two games, London, where the loyalty in the Champions League and the sports culture are higher. What really hits us in the Italian league, is not just the numerous number of fouls on Kaka, on which the referees of our league overlook, but the scientific factor. It’s never the same player to make these fouls. There is an alteration between one player and another. As if it was a strategy. Almost the sign of a preparation. And here evidently the referees have no fault at all.

The hammering which Kaka is suffering is the same which had mined the physique and resistance of Marco Van Basten. The Dutch star played his last game at the highest level at 28 years of age. It was November 1992 against Gothenborg at San Siro. Then here never came back. No! It must not happen for Kaka too. There is no post-Golden Ball crisis and there is no world class player playing badly. We are simply facing a player who is hunted, who has to stop for 15-20 days to manage his problems, then evidently does not return on the pitch at his best.

The reality is that whereas the Milan opponents take turns in fouling Kaka, and the first minutes foul does not receive any sanction, it is becoming a custom of most Italian teams towards Kaka. The Rossoneri’s team are therefore risking an important part of the season against Arsenal. In the Kaka will recover, he will prepare himself and he will do his best to be in front of 80,000 fans at San Siro. Until the next foul, or the ‘ordinary administration’ of the Italian referees. So in the end, until when?

I kinda laughed when I saw this... considering that many other players get hacked every game week... Kaka shouldn't complain.

I think its fair game to some degree, as long as the tackles are not Tayloresque.

I am not justifying this by any means and the referees should punish tackles from behind a lot more regardless of this player being Kaka or Luigi Sala.

Also, Kaka as soon as our season is over in Europe, should get surgery, before he wouldn't even let oponents close to him and due to his knee (and the repeated kicks he gets) is also due to him being 2 steps slower.

Didn't Totti and Roma do almost the exact same thing last year ?

i will be very curious to see if anybody else gets as many dangerous tackles in the 1st 20-25 min of every game actually.
Its interesting that this appears several hours after i posted similar thoughts about kaka in another thread here ... ;)

Matter of fact Totti also suffers the same treatment. It was often underlined on the papers.

Poulsen also provoked Totti's spitting. Anyways, both Kaka and Totti, due to their style of play and position are hammered a lot as soon as they touch the ball.

glen is a good level headed fella.
probably a lot more than you or I can claim
But we're cool... Glen just bores the reader with his arrogant talk about how much he knows and you don't... when in reality he doesn't say much. I bet you he can be cool, but he just acts too cocky for no reason many times. I can be a dick I know, but I am bsing most of the times. Problem is you can't know that so that is why I am trying to refine my posting style to a more mature level... Still, many times I might just tell you F U and end it there. Glen and others don't go direct, but offend very badly nonetheless.

"Many players" are not Golden Ball recipients.."many players" are not as lethal as Kaka ... there is a reason they target him and it is not because he is one of 'many players'

I remeber Baggio also sometime ago told about the especiall treatment he got. I think he used to get a lot of threaths during the games. I remeber this one "I´m gonna break your legs today".

Anyway, I think its absolutly right that Milan complain about this. I dont think its only Kaka who gets treated like this. As it has been mentioned here, same thing was said about Totti last year. Dont want to see another MVB situation.

I dont know if its just me or if anyone else also has noticed it. Kaka, recently not only doesn´t fly past players like he used to, but he goes down more easily also. This is somthing that I dont like and IMO its a direct consequence of the hard tacklings and freekicks and yellow cards not beeing handed out.
