Well jumping directly from "defender" to striker might be a to fast step just over one match. It seems though that Matthäus is realy reading this forum and atleast take some of the suggestions mentioned here to his heart. :D

Attention Hungarians

My team Saudi Arabia is playing Hungary in a friendly on the 2nd of February in Istanbul as part of preparation for our opening second round WC qualifier vs Uzbekistan.

Will Lothar Matthaus send a strong team for the game vs Saudi Arabia?

Thanks.

Don't worry, we dont have a strong team at all. Even if we had, Lothar would find the way to lose the game :O

Hungary look close to home

By Márton Dinnyés

Lothar Matthäus has announced a largely home-based squad for Hungary's game against Saudi Arabia on 2 February.

Unofficial game
The match in Istanbul does not fall on a day allocated for international friendlies, so the German coach has been unable to call on most of his foreign-based players. However, his regular first team is expected to get a run-out on 9 February when Hungary take on Wales.

Hungary squad

Szucs (Ferencvárosi TC), Posza (Vasas SC),

Nikolov (Debreceni VSC), Éger (Debreceni VSC), Stark (Györi ETO FC), Juhász (MTK Hungária FC), Vanczák (Újpesti TE), Gyepes (Ferencvárosi TC),

Huszti (Ferencvárosi TC), Rósa (Ferencvárosi TC), Lipcsei (Ferencvárosi TC), Tóth (Malatyaspor), Simek (Újpesti TE), Vincze (Györi ETO),

Kenesei (Györi ETO), Kerekes (Debreceni VSC), Kovács (Viking FK), Rajczi (Újpesti TE).

seems Tóth András has finally been droped (unless he is injured)
but look certain he will include Éger at last

An unofficial game?

Is that true? Well the match has been confirmed on FIFA's website, so it must be OFFICIAL.

Anyway, this game is to prepare Saudi Arabia for the opening WC qualifier vs Uzbekistan a week later. If a strong is selected by our manager Gabriel Calderon, watch out for Yasser Al Qahtani and Mohammed Al Shalhoub. They're very good attacking players. Also, defender Ridha Tukar is a talented player.
