Hodgson named new Emirates boss Tuesday 9 April, 2002
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Former Inter and Udinese Coach Roy Hodgson has been appointed as the new boss of the United Arab Emirates.
The English tactician has signed a two-year contract reportedly worth $2m a season.
Hodgson, who started this term at Udinese before being sacked, returns to international level after a six-year absence following his experience with Switzerland.
The Croydon-born boss is believed to have beaten Japan Coach Philippe Troussier, Bruno Metsu – who led Senegal to the World Cup – and Argentine Oscar Fullone, to the position.
