Christian Ziege has quashed rumours suggesting that he is about to leave the Riverside by stating that he "perfectly happy with Middlesbrough" and he does not wish to leave the North East.
Liverpool have reportedly been tracking Ziege for sometime and the London based media claimed that Chelsea were about to make a bid for him, but these reports have been strenuously denied by both Boro manager Bryan Robson and chairman Steve Gibson.
"I have not spoken to anyone regarding a move away from Middlesbrough, and nor do I want to," stressed Ziege. "I am perfectly happy with Middlesbrough Football Club, I am not interested in moving anywhere."
It had been suggested that Ziege had a clause in his contract that would allow him to talk to any club that made a bid of £5 million, but Robson has denied this saying: "There is no get-out clause in his contract."
Ziege was a massive success on Teesside in his first season since arriving from AC Milan for £4 million last summer, and was acknowledged as one of the best foreign players in the Premiership.
