Not official yet but looks pretty much done

MKHITARYAN REJECTS ROMA CONTRACT, WILL SIGN FOR INTER INSTEAD

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has reportedly turned down the final Roma contract extension offer and will instead join Inter as a free agent.

The Giallorossi had improved their proposal yesterday, bringing it to circa €4.2m per season including various add-ons and bonuses that would practically match the one on offer from Inter.

However, they added there was an ultimatum of 24 hours to make a decision and the warning there would be no further bids.

Now Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia, Gazzetta dello Sport, Il Tempo and more all have exactly the same story – Mkhitaryan’s entourage informed Roma he would not be extending his contract at the Stadio Olimpico.

It now seems certain that he will begin a new chapter of his career at Inter, which were able to offer him Champions League football, whereas Roma are only in the Europa League.
The 33-year-old Armenia international joined Roma initially on loan from Arsenal in 2019 and then made it permanent free of charge.
He scored five goals and provided nine assists in 44 competitive games this season, which saw the Giallorossi win the Conference League.

As a free agent why not...9 assists+5 goals is decent so he could still contribute something and has big experience obviously.

I bet COOLNTALL is excited somewhere, his nation's best player at Inter.

Good signing BTW

Far better than Vidal at this stage of their respective careers

Great sub for Hakan/Barella

Asllani will be vice Brozo, it seems

so according to azz mikhi is pulling a hakan?
Yeah odd way of thinking. Inter and Roma aren't big rivals (it's not like Mkhitaryan is joining Lazio), and I don't think Mkhitaryan at his age is a big loss for Roma. It's not like they lost a player who will win them the league next season. Anyhow this move doesn't seem to be about money, as Roma made a good renewal offer.

HOW INZAGHI CONVINCED MKHITARYAN TO JOIN INTER

A phone call with Simone Inzaghi was instrumental in Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s decision to join Inter instead of signing a contract renewal with Roma.

The 33-year-old Armenian forward spent the last three seasons with Roma and he found particular success this campaign under Jose Mourinho, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 31 Serie A appearances.

He was interested in staying with the club but their offer failed to convince him to put pen to paper.

As highlighted by TuttoMercatoWeb, Mkhitaryan was convinced to join Inter thanks to a phone call with Inzaghi, who discussed his tactical plans for the Armenian and the possible changes to the system.

The Italian coach is planning to deploy the former Manchester United man as a trequartista in a 3-4-1-2 system, as well as a backup for Hakan Calhanoglu in the three-man midfield.

Mkhitaryan is set to sign a two-year contract with Inter worth €3.6m net per season.

I don't believe that report of an Inzaghi phone call for a second. If Inzaghi wanted to play with trequartista he would've done so with Hakan already.

Probably the best/most consistent Roma player last season.

Azz haha, where is that guy?!? He made some valid points there, but that Roma will be better than Inter is not one haha.

Apparently mkhi still qualified for the growth so total cost is €4.9 mil including tax per year. Which is less then vidal before tax

He got banned like a hundred times not sure what was his last offense..

Azz can be overly negative to the extent of being ridiculous.

I hope he will be as good as Dacourt was for us after his free transfer from Roma. Different type of player though, Dacourt more defensive

Can't say I am thrilled.
Free transfer, experienced, technically strong, confident.. oh and ex Man U, that in itself is a plus. The players Man U fans hated have done well at Inter: Lukaku, Sanchez and Darmian. One of my friends is a Man U fan and he hated Mkhitaryan so it is a good omen...

:D

Good video, nice composure and skill

Another good video. @f.c. krajina will like it because Dzeko scored from Mkhitaryan assists (no idea why title says 2022 though lol, obviously Dzeko and Pedro were not Roma players in 2022)
